  1. The Jays' rotation is so uninspiring right now that if Boyd was their best SP for the rest of the year, most of us wouldn't even be that surprised
  2. If you can throw 96 all day, sure. Not if you're 91-92 touching 96...
  3. Cole Hamels' avg fastball in his career is 91.1 mph, fyi. Boyd has plenty of velo from the left side. With his command (stat scouting), his fastball is probably a 60 grade pitch.
  4. They just gave Scott Copeland three starts, lol. I felt almost #blessed watching Boyd today.
  5. very nice strike and whiff % on the slider/slurve
  6. The curveball isn't very good at all. Nothing but a show me pitch. The slurve is promising though.
  7. Certainly good enough stuff to earn a few more starts. He reminds me of Happ, a little bit. Throws more breaking balls and has better command though (this doesn't mean he'll be as good as Happ or better). I definitely think he's a big leaguer starter.

Still in shock that my favourite team traded Seguin, Soderberg, Lucic, Hamilton, and Boychuk in the last couple of years, and has so little to show for it. I don't follow amateur hockey so no idea if any of Boston's picks this year were good, but I highly doubt any of them will ever be as good as Hamilton or Lucic.
  9. Poor Matt Boyd... Has to throw to Navarro in his debut.
  10. lol, Rendon is hurt again. That's what, his third independent injury this year?
  11. I think I speak for everyone when I say: fhgwghads
  12. Hmmm. Didn't really earn it, but he's probably never going to hit anyway and he's 24. Alford pushed him up, I guess?

Hoops Addict ‏@hoopsaddict 8m8 minutes ago Toronto now has max cap room. Not sure if anyone will bite, but Raps will be flirting with elite free agents this summer. Big move.

Some of these entry level contracts are insane.
  19. Right. If you can pick one stat-sheet attribute in a pitcher prospect, and you're not allowed to pick "run prevention" or something cheeky like that, you pick K rate. If SRF can continue to shave that BB/9 down as the season continues, he could end up with similar numbers to Tyler Glasnow's 19 year old kick at A ball.
  20. What was that stupid Nicolino trade again?
  21. For those that don't have the link, this site is awesome http://mlbfarm.com/index.php?team=TOR You can also create a custom list and bookmark it, and it saves your dudes (for your fantasy teams or whatnot).
  22. The Blue Jays will have basically no holes on offense now. K f***ing P has 1.5 fWAR in 73 games - 4th best on the team. So nice of him to fill the hole left by Pompey. With an 89 wRC+ and extremely positive baserunning, he really hasn't been a hole in the lineup. The only issues are on the defensive side now: LF - awful SS - not good backup C - garbage (hard to complain about this though). Would be nice to keep everyone healthy and then replace Carrera with a spry Saunders.
  23. Pretty excited to see Alford with a clean slate in A+. Wipe away all of those weird, exciting, confusing BB%, K%, and BABIP numbers, and let us see where he really is as a hitter. Hit some dingerz, Tony.
