  1. Tellez is going to open a lot of eyes around the league this year. Skinny Vlad definitely looks better all around. I really think Biggio needs to level out his swing slightly, especially with the balls now not having as much carry. Is it just me or does it look like Groshans bat speed is a bit tardy? I agree with someone's previous post on this year being Jansen's last chance. Kay looked fantastic, threw hard and located well. Great first game, you can see the regulars are primed to leg up this year.
  2. Sunday's Spring opener vs the Yankees looks like it will be televised on SN, 1pm.
  3. Are you seriously stating that at the way things stand currently, options aside, that Davis is ranked lower on the depth chart than Fisher? The only tool Fisher has over Davis is power, when he makes contact that is.
  4. I know some people's brains start getting squeezed more on routine fly balls oddly enough, which is anxiety driven. Rob Butler had serious anxiety issues but in his case it didn't effect his defence seemingly. The point is, there is just simply no room for Fisher with no options on this club. Hopefully nobody claims him and he can sort out his issues in Buffalo. We gave him enough time in the bigs to figure it out because we had the flexibility to do so. I think Atkins was more than accommodating in trying to get him straight.
  5. There's no medical mental issues with Fisher. People love making up s*** so they can show sympathy instead of just stating that he's not a good MLB player and has the yips in the outfield. Options aside, Davis' defence alone carries more value than Fisher. This is a business but some people would prefer to waste a 25 man spot for sympathetic / feel good reasons. f*** that, we gave him enough burn.
  6. This is why Gurriel makes sense batting third.
  7. Why does the rest of the baseball world value Gurriel's bat more than our fan base? Gurriel has improved himself into being a solid everyday bat. You can't realistically expect 2019 Simien (hopefully somewhere in between 2019 and his career numbers), so I would value Gurriel's bat higher as of now. Springer CF Bichette SS Gurriel LF Hernandez RF Vladdy 1B/DH Simien 2B Tellez 1B/DH Kirk/Jansen C Biggio 3B Bench.. Davis, Grichuk, Espinal, (Jansen/Kirk) DFA Fisher (please and f*** the fact that Davis has an option). We actually have a lot of good baseball players on this team now, no room for low IQ types like Fisher to wrinkle things.
  8. I think Gurriel will end up having a higher WAR this year. Ideally, Biggio would serve better as the ninth hitter in a stacked line up. The line up as of now could easily look like.. Bichette Springer Gurriel Vladdy Teoscar Tellez Kirk (DH/C) Jansen Biggio I like the prospects that Bo will cause more damage to the added fastballs that the lead off hitter will see with Springer batting second. It's also nice to have a high OBP guy hitting ninth who's also a great base runner setting up the top of the line up. Having Bo sitting on deck doesn't hurt either. I'm not saying this should be done, but something to look at. If Brantley was signed, it would be a no brainer imo.
  9. Let's just hope that Grichuk does in fact see the least amount of playing time, but with Chuckles and Atkins desire in licking Grichuk's ball sack, who the f*** knows. I fear Atkins will order Montoya to play Grichuk just as much in order to gain justification in the contract he gave him. Let's hope Atkins swallows his pride and accepts it was not the greatest contract offer and let's the amount of playing be dictated by performance. I wouldn't mind Grichuk playing a lot while on one of his hot streaks, but at the same time he needs to sit when he's not. 300-400 ABs is perfectly fine.
  10. I don't think so. Springer at least projects to maintain a decent level of athleticism compared to Pujols.
  11. Skinny Vlad might surprise us at third base.
  12. No way Vlad should see clean up until he shows he can elevate the ball more consistently. I would go.. Biggio Bichette Springer Brantley Teoscar Vladdy Tellez Gurriel Jansen/Kirk
  13. I wonder what they're contemplating, but one of Gurriel, Teoscar or Grichuk has to go in this case. God I hope Shatkins pulls off some magic and unloads Grichuk somewhere.
  14. As expected we had to overpay to land a top tier FA if in fact it for 6/150. The good news is that this signing could break the ice and pave a path for Bauer or JTR now that they see we're serious. Exciting times.
  15. True.. Maybe 1/6 with a mutual for a 1/10.
  16. Nice pick up, most likely in the 1/6 range plus team option for another 1/6 with a $1M buyout.
  17. Yeah, it's not so much the annual but the term for me. A bit risky with the volatility in RP, especially when we're talking that kind of money. I don't think it makes much business sense.
  18. 2/10 for Yates would be oozing value. After his tour of the Dunedin facility today, management could/should throw out a $1M signing bonus into the wind.
  19. I still can't believe the money the White Sox threw at Hendriks.
  20. Who were the f***ing idiots that said that they were going to make a big splash this off season with all this money available to throw around? If Shatkins don't sign at least one of Springer, Bauer or Realmuto plus at least one other second tier free agent, then the off season is a bust only based on those two f***ing idiots shooting their mouths off. We could have easily traded for Lindor and Carrasco based on what the Mets gave up and then worried about extending Lindor afterwards. Shatkins is full of s***.
  21. 4/78? GFY Shatkins. Where are these rumours of the Jays willing to offer 5/100 for him? Get ready for second tier signings, maybe.
  22. "Watch Ross Atkins be the ultimate alpha and wait for Springer AND Bauer to fall into our laps". Atkins an Alpha, LOL.
  23. If you continued to read you would have realized that I admitted that it was a knee jerk reaction, just because Lindor would have been fantastic here. How ironic you judged anyway without all the information available to you. Go have a drink and relax.
  24. Probably because Cleveland felt the chances of Lindor signing an extension with us was highly probable, given the relationship he has with Shatkins. Now that I'm thinking about it more, it's probably best under the current scenario that we didn't trade for him. DJL please for the love of God.
