    That would make sense. Kirk's bat in the line up more often when he's not catching will help soften the loss of Springer's bat somewhat.

    Shatkins said they're pretty sure that Springer should be good to go for opening day. With that being said, it sounds like worse case scenario would be he misses opening day (Thursday) and starts his season in game two on Saturday. The Friday off day after game one is definitely a benefit.

    The Toronto Blue Jays announced right-hander Kirby Yates has been diagnosed with a flexor strain in his right arm and is expected to miss multiple weeks, according to the Toronto Star's Laura Armstrong. The Blue Jays are continuing to gather information about his injury. More to come.
