  1. And now Cash showing Semien a lot of respect by still having him in the game for his third at bat that is due next inning.
  2. That's obviously a tall stretch, but it's crazy knowing that it's actually possible.
  3. I would start Ray Friday night and keep him on his regular days off. He will also line up to pitch the final game vs Boston. Keep him regular while he's rolling.
  4. Surgery was in May, so he should be good to go right out of the shoot or miss a few weeks worst case.
  5. It all depends where the fastball is sitting. It's rare that a plus command type that sits 88-90 is going to be successful in the MLB, maybe a swing type. Bat speed in the MLB is getting better and better and hitters don't mind sitting soft and then react to a 90mph fastball hitting it hard the other way nowadays.
  6. I've always felt that command as a basis with three plus pitches is the better nucleus to start with. He'd have to be sitting at at least 93-94 with room for an increase. The LHP the Cubs took is a command/off speed specialist with arguably the best change up in the draft?
  7. Are the command type of pitchers starting to be coveted instead of the more raw power arm types?
  8. I was thinking the same thing. Looks like a double though.
  9. If he still has a no hitter going, I can't see him being pulled given his current pitch count. Nevermind, didn't realize he was at 82 pitches through six.
  10. Pablo Lopez of the Marlins has just set a MLB record by striking out the first 9 batters of the ball game.
  11. Ray makes me feel nervous when he walks off the mound after the inning is over. He carries himself like he's hurting somewhere, lol.
  12. That's how you greet the shift. Nice job Espinal.
  13. Nice to see Jansen hammer that mistake. We really need to try and hit the ball against the infield shift, just to get some base runners and make it uncomfortable on the opposing pitching. Biggio really needs to consider this.
  14. Can someone drop a nuke on this s*** box stadium.
  15. Gurriel is a better option hitting sixth over Grichuk anytime.
  16. Grichuk not getting the start today vs a LHP right before the break isn't a good look for him, unless there's something else going on as to why he isn't playing. Let's see how Gurriel does hitting sixth, which imo makes the line up better until Kirk is back.
  17. Yeah, the Jays can easily snag the last WC spot with a few additions at the deadline. We're only 3.5 games back with no one else to really crawl over ffs.
  18. Yeah, a win tomorrow would mitigate the damage. We are playing the Rays in Tampa after all..
