  1. Why can Kirk only catch 3/5 games?? Why not majority of the games with a rest day once a week like every other MLB starting catcher
  2. True. That’s pretty much what happened with Collins/Jansen when we were all screaming about him DHing. Turned out Jansen had a big boo boo. Biggio made a diving grab in that 2nd game and hasn’t played much since. Could be something banged up
  3. This. And I really hope he succeeds, because everyone has been absolutely s***ing on him since last year. He was excellent in 2019 and 2020 so I think he still has something
  4. Extremely odd move for a penny-pinching team like Oakland. Its not like they were even a solid enough team that “going for it” and grabbing Marte made sense.
  5. Dickey was somewhat useful during his jays tenure. Threw 800 innings of 4-ish ERA over 4 seasons. Ugly s*** to watch, but i’ll take that as a 5th starter any year
  6. If you think he’s gonna be bumped from the rotation before June even if he’s getting lit up every start… I got some bad news for you
  7. Sounds similar to the Kirk injury last year
  8. He still looked better than Berrios, and we’re not really judging him on his mess of a first start. IMO we can fairly evaluate Kikuchi after 5 or so starts. If he still looks like crap then maybe his time in the rotation is limited
  9. I tried to tell y’all Grichuk is a great 4th OF option. People just hated his salary. But look at the crap we’re gonna be running out now this season, Tapia/Zimmer… if one of our OFs gets injured things could look ugly. It was a gesture of goodwill for the FO to trade him so he got steady playtime. Although the difference between Grich vs Tap/Zim probably amounts to less than a 1 WAR difference
  10. He was just OK. Gave up some hard contact but the homerun was a cheapie anyways. Need to score some fookin runs. Gettem tomorrow
  11. He’s like Stanton but without the bat speed and power
  12. Good work from Tony buckets after that leadoff double
  13. Would your rather waste the good arms so they aren’t available when we’re winning tomorrow? Guys need some time off, pen has been worked pretty hard so far
  14. The 3rd year was definitely risky, but maybe they think he can be a valuable bullpen arm as a fallback if he fails as a starter. 12 mil for a solid lefty reliever isn’t outrageous
  15. Well, Kikuchi was better than Berrios and Ryu. Against a better team too
  16. They’re also rusty like the starting pitchers
  17. He’ll have an essay ready to go by Thursday night
  18. Lol yeah ikr. If he got injured in June it would’ve been ok
  19. Sigh. Everyone raves about Kirk but Jansen is also a great hitter in his own right. Although you wouldn’t know it because he struggled rookie year and he’s injured all the f***ing time.
