    Its funny how Chapman had 2 pivotal batted balls that ended up JUST short and JUST foul…. pretty much the same way his entire season has gone. Those 2 games really summarized the whole season. They showed the same strengths and weaknesses we had all season long.

    Yeah Rogers must be furious they couldn’t at least take it to the ALDS and get 1-2 home games. That’s a huge chunk of revenue they were probably promised in exchange for the 200+ million payroll

    I would guess they don’t even have a way to factor that into the equation. They probably see it as a non-issue. Player A/Player B situation. And therein lies the problem.

    We did better than the Yankees, Mets, Angels and Padres in the expectations-results department. That’s about it. Woohoo.

    Right, and those failures are magnified in the postseason. I don’t really like the move with Berrios, but like you’ve been saying its not the reason we lost. Wonder how strong the blowback on the Berrios move would’ve been if we win the game 3-2.

    When have we actually done anything right in the Shatkins era though? Its 3 postseason appearances in a row now where questionable in-game decisions have cost us. 2020 - the Shoemaker/Ray thing - leaving Ryu on the mound to die in game 2 2022 - pulling Gausman in favor of Mayza - Tapia into the game instead of JBJ 2023 - pulling Berrios early - never giving Schneider a PH opportunity

    Extremely jealous of their postseason success… even though I like our roster better. f***in baseball

    They did the exact same thing in the 2020 series with Tampa. Matt Shoemaker coasting, they pulled him after first time through the order and put in Robbie Ray, who proceeded to give up a triple and let in a run. They lost that game 3-1. Eeerily similar. Something is f***ed with this group, whether its Vlad/Bo, the coaching staff, or the front office. Can’t keep just chalking things up to “Bad Luck”. Something is rotten here.

    Yep. Failure by the coaching staff. This is why JS should be fired IMO. These guys still haven’t learned from their mistakes.

    Most casuals want JS fired because his bullpen/pitching management. I want him fired because the entire offense underperformed and the players still make stupid mistakes. He’s not getting the best out of these players. We are not the same.

    Scary to think the front office implemented this strategy… so I will choose to blame the coaches for now until evidence shows otherwise

    I keep saying this but you have some posters arguing that “oh why would veteran players like Springer and Chapman change their approach??” Idk why, but they all did. Almost every player on the team has career low pull% and career high oppo% this season. That’s why im in favor of firing the coaching staff.

    They seemed extremely hesitant to use any of the rookie guys in big spots. Just the typical “these are our main guys, the numbers will come around” mentality that never came to fruition.

    I hate that Vladdy shows like 0 remorse for getting picked off there. Immediately pointing for the replay like he didn’t just massively f*** up. The dude has 0 accountability for himself. Doesn’t even hang his head in shame. Doesn’t seem like he even cares. Loser
