    Yup, this. Atkins needs to go. And if Shapiro won’t do it, then he needs to go too. The org shouldn’t have to suffer because of personal relationships taking priority over team success.

    You seem to miss the fact that Manoah was absolutely awful in 2023, our depth guy White was also atrocious, and our top prospect that was expected to make a few starts got injured. In 2022 we had 2 guys (Kikuchi and Berrios) that both performed like s*** and provided next to nothing. And even with that, the rotation was still adequate both seasons.

    Question is does he actually hit 20+ homeruns as a blue jays though. Our entire lineup lost their power seemingly overnight.

    Realistically the only way to get the heat off himself is to make a big move. If Atkins isn’t fired in the next few weeks im expecting a huge move coming, whether its Soto/Robert or Ohtani.

    Banking on your core players meeting projections isn’t a recipe for success?? You’re just as likely to acquire someone like Luis Robert and wind up having a disappointing 3 WAR season from them… nothing is guaranteed. Im not exactly sure what you expect from this front office. Bottom line IMO is they need to figure out why half the lineup underperformed and fix that. Something was very wrong with the approach/hitting process for a handful of our core guys. That is the only real way this team can improve, because trying to find an external player to put up a 4+ WAR season is unrealistic.
