  1. Yes, looking back there isn’t really anything that could have been done to “fix” this team. If Vlad and Bo aren’t playing like they should, and Springer and Kirk are giving almost nothing, not much would have changed. But I still can be upset that they basically ignored to offense after looking so terrible last season. They didn’t improve the team where it clearly needed to be improved. If you or anyone else thinks im unreasonable for that, im not really sure what to say.
  2. Yeah and that’s why nobody is really complaining that they didn’t beef up/add pieces to the bullpen. Because last year it was great and its the same group of guys. Can’t do much about that. You cannot say the same for the offense. They should have done a better job addressing that weakness. Im not saying things would be “fixed” but I hate the fact that they made 0 improvements to the team’s weakest area and its a problem again for the 2nd year in a row.
  3. Jansen slumping Kikuchi not as sharp Romano injured Yimi injured Thats a good chunk of our trade pieces that just went up in flames/lowered their value significantly IDK if we should even bother with the "retooling" thing anymore
  4. No.... we will pick up steam here in the last few weeks in the race for a good draft pick
  5. Its been several years since we’ve essentially been eliminated from playoff contention THIS early. This sucks. Embarrassing given the payroll they’re working with.
  6. This team just refuses to pivot from “the plan”. Mayza still getting high leverage is a joke
  7. Insert Josh Donaldson quote
  8. And I mentioned losing Belt (and not replacing the production) because he was one of the biggest power sources and best hitters for us last season. Stop being obtuse
  9. Can’t fix the hole in the wall, so i’ll just leave it instead of trying to patch it/cover it up a bit. Yerdum
  10. Yes and they sat on their hands in the offseason after losing Belt and Chapman. Content with the same group of underperformers and HOPING that they would be better without making any changes to the coaching staff and 0 upgrades to the rest of the questionable spots in the lineup. You guys really gotta acknowledge that they NEEDED to add better bats than IKF, KK, and Turner. Else we will all continue to have these circular arguments
  11. He made his grave, he can lay in it
  12. If im the Jays FO I wouldn’t double down and leave things to chance. I would’ve sacrificed some defense for extra offense in 2024. Top 2 O with 15th D would be a much better product to watch, even if the record was the same. And then they could also say that THEY f***ING TRIED. Instead of sitting on their asses and not bothering to address the #1 problem from last year.
  13. What a disaster signing for the Mets so far
  14. Still can’t believe he threw JS under the bus for the Berrios decision and got away with it. Media should have absolutely roasted him for that pathetic post-game presser after the knockout game
  15. Lets just hope the “retool” goes better than the one after 2022 after shipping out Teo and Lourdes and going all in on defense.
  16. Honestly probably for the best. This team was a prime candidate to stand pat/add pieces at the deadline only to crater right after and still miss the playoffs. Being good or bad is better than being mediocre/stuck in the middle, and this team is stinky which bodes well for the future
  17. The difference in the quality of the at bats there between Horwitz and Vlad is f***ing laughable.
  18. They could have bolstered the lineup at the deadline but they chose not to. But yes, underperformances killed us in 2023
  19. Yep. Very well could be cognitive issues combined with standard aging
  20. Because he’s George MF Springer!!
  21. No the offense would still be broken
  22. Agreed. Being in the middle/cusp would be the worst thing for this org
