  1. And this is to say, Don Mattingly is not a good coach because he doesn't even understand his own hitting mechanics.
  2. Here's an excellent example of what im talking about. Miggy is saying one thing, but immediately we see video evidence that he's NOT doing what he's saying. The bat is dipping down early and he's swinging upwards. His palm is up, but its also actually tilted more towards the catcher. Harold says "not like this?" and Miggy agrees, even though the video right after is a contradiction. Most of the high-level all-star type guys actually don't understand their mechanics and why they are successful. I'd say the journeyman/late-bloomers are actually much smarter because they had to struggle for years before actually doing a deep dive to understand their mechanics.
  3. Most of these high level players actually don’t even understand what they’re actually doing. They will SAY “stay on top of the ball”, but really its just a mental cue for them and not actually what their body is doing when they swing the bat. I remember even seeing it in a short segment with Miggy. Best piece of hitting advice I saw IMO was the Pete Rose thing, where he said your main adjustments should be: - moving up in the box if the breaking ball is killing you - moving back in the box if the fastball is killing you - stand closer/further from the plate - choking up on the bat
  4. Yes exactly thank you. I normally type on my phone during bathroom breaks so I was too lazy to try and explain it to the mumpkins
  5. I’ll use a page from Brownie’s book and say: Do you think these hitters are just listening to the coaches and happy with the underperformance?? Some guys like Jansen and Schneider still hard the ball hard, so it CANT be a coaching problem. These guys are veterans, why would they suddenly stop hitting??
  6. There’s 0 chance they burn things down completely if Atkins is still here.
  7. Jansen + KK package to the Phillies and we could still “soft compete”
  8. Not exactly a fair assessment since 3 of those guys were injured… but yeah not great so far
  9. I always knew you were full of s***. Jk Sorry maybe that was in bad taste but I had to
  10. I suppose you own him on one of your fantasy teams?
  11. Its organizational issue at this point
  12. Drinking Yankee fans’ tears as we slap hit our way to the WS would be awesome
  13. It depends how Vladdy looks the rest of this year + next. If he has another season like 2023 teams will be hesitant to give him a big deal.
  14. The times have changed, teams understand that defense is a thing now. And most guys can be moved to 1B in their later years, Harper for example. For a 1B to get a big contract these days, he needs to have an elite bat. Talking 130ish wRC+ and up with a consistent track record.
  15. Probably something to do with launch angle and him popping up alot?
  16. Prince Fielder got 200+ but that one didn't work out so well...
  17. IIRC Manoah was claiming shoulder issues last year, not elbow issues. But its possible he altered his arm mechanics due to the shoulder issue which then caused this elbow injury.
  18. Isn't this true for the yankees every year though? Somehow they find a way
  19. eww WTF is fangraphs doing
  20. Contrary to what you believe, the Yanks don’t have INFINITE money
  21. Probably yes because he’s a moron
  22. Really depends if the team wants to take the plunge and make Springer a bench piece going forward. Easiest way to improve the offense is stick a big guy like Ward/Rooker/Robert in RF and use Springer as a PR/defensive sub/backup CF. That would also open up the possibility of trading KK to a contender for a relief piece or lottery ticket prospect. Arenado and McMahon are nice targets to improve the infield if wanted, though the combo of IKF and Horwitz might prove to be effective.
  23. Alonso will be a pretty good comp for what Vlad should fetch as a free agent. Add on a couple years because Vlad is younger.
  24. f***in bum almost ruined our season last year. Frustrating that he sucked so hard with us
  25. Yeah just imagine we had this version of Varsho last year…
