  1. The times have changed, teams understand that defense is a thing now. And most guys can be moved to 1B in their later years, Harper for example. For a 1B to get a big contract these days, he needs to have an elite bat. Talking 130ish wRC+ and up with a consistent track record.
  2. Probably something to do with launch angle and him popping up alot?
  3. Prince Fielder got 200+ but that one didn't work out so well...
  4. IIRC Manoah was claiming shoulder issues last year, not elbow issues. But its possible he altered his arm mechanics due to the shoulder issue which then caused this elbow injury.
  5. Isn't this true for the yankees every year though? Somehow they find a way
  6. eww WTF is fangraphs doing
  7. Contrary to what you believe, the Yanks don’t have INFINITE money
  8. Probably yes because he’s a moron
  9. Really depends if the team wants to take the plunge and make Springer a bench piece going forward. Easiest way to improve the offense is stick a big guy like Ward/Rooker/Robert in RF and use Springer as a PR/defensive sub/backup CF. That would also open up the possibility of trading KK to a contender for a relief piece or lottery ticket prospect. Arenado and McMahon are nice targets to improve the infield if wanted, though the combo of IKF and Horwitz might prove to be effective.
  10. Alonso will be a pretty good comp for what Vlad should fetch as a free agent. Add on a couple years because Vlad is younger.
  11. f***in bum almost ruined our season last year. Frustrating that he sucked so hard with us
  12. Yeah just imagine we had this version of Varsho last year…
  13. Varsho is fun to watch when he’s not striking out 50% of the time
  14. I think they just completely soured on Teo for whatever reason. They didn’t really want him back so they didn’t make a competitive offer.
  15. I think we should have offered him Soler money. Not sure he would’ve accepted. Also jot sure why the Jays weren’t willing to go more than 1 year.
  16. Right, which is why the KK signing was unnecessary and extremely premature
  17. Not really relevant, we could have had both this season. The trade was a net win for 2023 and beyond.
  18. Yeah always liked Teo. Turns out the entire team has brainfart issues, not just him. He was always a super clutch bat with a great attitude. Definitely wanted him back but lots of guys here told me he’s only 2 WAR player and not worth 20 mil. Anytime I can rub their faces in s*** I will, because certain guys here act so holier than thou all the time. And they’ll never admit to being wrong, as you can see with Spanky.
  19. Hmmm so the Dodgers front office is smarter than fangraphs?? That’s crazy yo. I thought steamer projections were gospel.
  20. Great job by Gausman and offense scored more than 3 runs. Good day
  21. For me im just confused. You hit him 2nd, you’re saying he’s one of the best bats in the lineup. If he’s one of the best bats available then why wasn’t he called up earlier?? Doesn’t make any sense. Panic moves galore the last few weeks.
  22. The guy we just called up from AAA is hitting 2nd in the lineup ROFL. Sometimes it seems like this front office is clueless
  23. Yeah I think they’re finally starting to realize defense only works if you can actually SCORE. They gravely overestimated the capabilities of this lineup for the 2nd year in a row.
  24. Of course you don’t, you’re dumb
