  1. Derosa is notorious for his outrageous trade scenarios, dude has no concept of player value
  2. You and I have a very very different definition of “superstar”
  3. Dude we've been over this, IDK exactly whats happening with the org/coaching staff but SOMETHING happened after 2022 and things changed for the worse. I would not be surprised to see guys like Vlad, Bo, Kirk, Springer, etc start hitting better next year with different people in charge.
  4. Im almost certain the low homeruns thing will change overnight with a new coaching staff/front office personnel. Something rotten is going on with the hitting philosophy
  5. Yes. Im still pretty confident he’ll end the season on 4ish WAR. Which is why IMO it would be better to trade him in the offseason
  6. Atkins seems like a guy dumb enough to ask for “your top 2 prospects” for Vladdy and accept whatever team agrees to the offer, regardless of the players
  7. Tons of evidence of this happening to ALL our players…. Hmmm
  8. The anti-Mattingly approach
  9. Mets/Yanks game now paused due to rain too
  10. Without the glove though lol
  11. True, though i don't think i'd feel comfortable giving Vlad a huge 200 million contract, which is likely what it will take. Would be nice if he turns out to be our Bautista 2.0 though, like he stays through the rebuild and then has some great playoff moments in his 30s when the team is good again.
  12. Oh look, a win. That’s nice
  13. Yes, looking back there isn’t really anything that could have been done to “fix” this team. If Vlad and Bo aren’t playing like they should, and Springer and Kirk are giving almost nothing, not much would have changed. But I still can be upset that they basically ignored to offense after looking so terrible last season. They didn’t improve the team where it clearly needed to be improved. If you or anyone else thinks im unreasonable for that, im not really sure what to say.
  14. Yeah and that’s why nobody is really complaining that they didn’t beef up/add pieces to the bullpen. Because last year it was great and its the same group of guys. Can’t do much about that. You cannot say the same for the offense. They should have done a better job addressing that weakness. Im not saying things would be “fixed” but I hate the fact that they made 0 improvements to the team’s weakest area and its a problem again for the 2nd year in a row.
  15. Jansen slumping Kikuchi not as sharp Romano injured Yimi injured Thats a good chunk of our trade pieces that just went up in flames/lowered their value significantly IDK if we should even bother with the "retooling" thing anymore
  16. No.... we will pick up steam here in the last few weeks in the race for a good draft pick
  17. Its been several years since we’ve essentially been eliminated from playoff contention THIS early. This sucks. Embarrassing given the payroll they’re working with.
  18. This team just refuses to pivot from “the plan”. Mayza still getting high leverage is a joke
  19. Insert Josh Donaldson quote
  20. And I mentioned losing Belt (and not replacing the production) because he was one of the biggest power sources and best hitters for us last season. Stop being obtuse
  21. Can’t fix the hole in the wall, so i’ll just leave it instead of trying to patch it/cover it up a bit. Yerdum
  22. Yes and they sat on their hands in the offseason after losing Belt and Chapman. Content with the same group of underperformers and HOPING that they would be better without making any changes to the coaching staff and 0 upgrades to the rest of the questionable spots in the lineup. You guys really gotta acknowledge that they NEEDED to add better bats than IKF, KK, and Turner. Else we will all continue to have these circular arguments
  23. He made his grave, he can lay in it
  24. If im the Jays FO I wouldn’t double down and leave things to chance. I would’ve sacrificed some defense for extra offense in 2024. Top 2 O with 15th D would be a much better product to watch, even if the record was the same. And then they could also say that THEY f***ING TRIED. Instead of sitting on their asses and not bothering to address the #1 problem from last year.
