  1. That's what im thinking. It could play out similar to the Judge situation.
  2. Yup and the front office wasted the season by not improving the offense at the deadline.
  3. Agreed. Would be hilarious if someone f***ed up the calculations and they missed getunder the tax. Should all be fired if that’s the case
  4. Unbelievably stupid if they didn’t get under the tax. Really couldn’t take a lesser prospect in one of these deals to get rid of more money?? Come on
  5. Getting a bunch of untested prospects back via trade isn’t any more of a sure thing. That could easily fail, and actually likely has a higher chance of failing. This is the best roster we’ll likely have for the next 5 or so years, im not upset at the front office for giving it one more shot in 2025.
  6. Don’t act like you even go to the games when the team is good
  7. Its not difficult to imagine a scenario where the bullpen ends up being good next year with no new additions. Swanson bounce back Healthy Romano (assuming he returns) Healthy and dominant Green It turned to s*** this year and just as easily could flip back. Now, that is leaning alot on “hope” but that’s kinda what we’re gonna need to compete.
  8. Yup. Perfect asset management in regards to signing and shipping him off at the right time, but most here agreed IKF didn’t deserve the 2/15 deal he got. We lucked out on him catching fire for a month or so in the first half of the season. End of the day, front office gets a kudos for that one.
  9. You’re far more flippant than I thought you were
  10. So we're just completely writing off Bo now after a bad year? Next year is his walk year too, i'd put money on a rebound.
  11. Proof that Brownie doesn't actually watch baseball
  12. Scherzer is fools gold at this point IMO
  13. Jackson Holliday has arrived
  14. Absolute crime if he doesn't win a gold glove this year
  15. Man, GRod has a f***ing goonies lookin face
  16. Those returns are very similar, but Stroman at the time was undoubtedly a better asset than Kikuchi. Better numbers, younger, and an extra year of control. You're also missing the 3rd player in the deal who might not be just a throw-in. The Kikuchi trade blows the Stroman trade out of the water IMO
  17. Fair enough. Liranzo is probably the best player that got dealt this deadline
  18. Yeah major head-scratcher. Hit him 6/7 and let him chill
  19. Idk about that, but Trevor Rogers got better returns than both
  20. Come on now The team is not good (as-is) but they aren’t bad either. Middling. A couple shrewd signings and some guys having bounceback years, its not hard to see them as a playoff team. Agree the bullpen looks like a mess, but we thought the bullpen looked good coming into this year. You really never know.
  21. What a crazy contract. They don’t win the WS without Corbin, so you could easily argue that the contract was worth it even though he was barely mlb-caliber after the first year of the deal.
  22. Yeah their fanbase is wildly underestimating/undervaluing him. His ERA is bloated but the underlying numbers are still very solid for starter on a contending team.
  23. Right because his arm is ++ (when he’s throwing overhand) f*** it, let him play 3B rest of season and see how it plays out.
  24. Lolll. We did need an innings eater, rotation is a bit empty
