Winning sells tickets. If they can construct a better roster without paying Vlad 30+ million a year for the next decade then so be it. The fans will come to the ballpark to see a winner.

I flatly disagree. He provides 0 defensive value, is terrible on the bases, and has a really bad body. He’s 25 and already has these issues. He has show he CAN be an elite hitter, but he’s also shown he can disappear for months on end. Vlad is an extremely risky player to sign long-term.
