Ok… its still known he has wrist/knee issues. He plays through it, but its likeya factor as to why we don’t see those godly numbers each year like we expected -
Vlad. Seems he doesn’t have the flexibility to get the swing plane right. Possibly has to do with his recurring knee issues

I think it has to do with his knees being messed up and he can’t get underneath the ball like he used to

Yes. Glancing at my fantasy teams and seeing more blue flags than usual. Lots of depth pitchers and bench pieces remain unsigned.

Then why do you hold the opinion that not getting a deal done with Vlad is "a massive fail by the front office" ? It takes 2 to tango and its fairly obvious that Vlad is the main reason a deal didn't get done. Even the fact that we are talking about it in past tense is all because Vlad made some arbitrary deadline for an extension.

Vlad also had no reason to take a discount deal after a terrible season. The guy is clearly deluded thinking he’s one of the best players in the game, he was never going to settle.

Yes, this has been pretty clear since last offseason. Vlad needs the wakeup call that he actually isn't getting close to Soto numbers.

And im tired of giving Vlad extra points because "he's young" Whatever gains he might make while aging and learning are negated by the fact his body will start declining rapidly.

Vlad isn't even the best player at his position since he broke into the league.... there's 3 ahead of him. Even if you set a date range of 2021-2024, he still has 3 players ahead of him in WAR at the same position. This idea that Vlad is a "generational" talent needs to f***ing die.

I think we may just have to accept that "growing the board" means having way more people that agree with this type of article compared to the old board. Which in turn might end up with the old users deciding to create their own board again lol.

Man, the Redsox have seemingly hit on so many stud prospects. Maybe their development is just super solid. - Casas - Duran - Anthony - Mayer - Campbell Plus Devers and now Bregman is a super solid core.

Exactly. I’d rather wait to see if he can put up MVP numbers again before forking over 500mil. Giving him anything over 300 at this point could look absolutely terrible before the ink dries if he has another mediocre season in 2025. I need to see more consistency to warrant the type of contract Vlad wants.

Yeah never really thought it made sense to trade him in the offseason. If you were trading him it should have been last deadline, why did we need him for the extra half season of a dead season? Ok so they held him. Planning to compete this year. Tried to extend him. Didn’t work out. I still don’t think its the right time to trade him now. You go into the season trying to compete again, and if it doesn’t work out you flip him at the deadline. If it goes the way of Donaldson, we probably sign Vlad back on a short-term or smaller deal anyways. I honestly like that better than extending him to some stupid 500mil deal. My choice probably would have been to trade him last deadline but that ship is sailed.

Absolute yikes if that’s what Vlad thinks. Par for the course with him though, we know he has the mental capacity of a 16 year old.
