    That was me, just a wild guess. Tatis and Marte are also struggling mightily. Maybe it was more that they got to comfortable feasting on garbage pitching in the WBC and messed their swings up

    Not DFA worthy yet, this is not like Chad Green where the underlying metrics were dogshit. If you looked at Hoffman's numbers while blacking out the ERA, he looks like a good/decent reliever. Something weird is up with him, a combination of mental game, bad luck, not holding runners, and always pitching in 1-run or tie games.

    I still think the trade was ok. the mistake was the timing of the extension. If they had waited til he was a free agent, he probably signs a 1 yr deal or like a 3/45. Just unfortunate, who could have known he'd turn into a pumpkin so soon

    Yeah seems like stupidity or stubbornness on their part to not get things checked/figured out in the offseason. Santander is super egregious, dude was injured most of last year and comes to camp throws a baseball for the first time in months and realizes he's injured?? Like come on dude.

    I was pretty confident he wouldn’t come close to repeating 2025, but I thought he’d at least be somewhat useful. Seems more like 2025 was a final dead cat bounce. Santander will be primary DH in 2027

    I’ve made peace with the reality that he might only be good in the post season. And honestly he’s worth it for that alone. Give us the 3-4 WAR each year and go beast in the PS
