Also, he's got a career 110 wRC+ through 247 games now, with 16.3% K rate. Per 162: 20/17, 4.2 WAR. Not bad for a 23 year old.

I'm in an epic rebuild. Last place at the moment, but: Goldschmidt Carpenter Myers Yelich Eaton Sandoval Grandal Lindor J. Fernandez Bradley Cingrani J. Gray Aaron Sanchez Ventura Gausman And potentially the 1-1 pick next year. Should be decent in a couple years.

I'm assuming they'll go 1-2 in the waiver draft next spring. Hopefully Boxy doesn't f*** up that selection, it will be big for his rebuild (assuming the ping pong balls bounce his way).

Nowhere was it implied that waivers roll over to subsequent seasons so I'm not sure why anyone would infer that.

I've made a few back end waiver claims, notably Gattis. Hasn't been much though unless you're looking for an Ichiro or Ibanez.

I love cockblocking Just a reminder to all GMs that waivers DO NOT carry over to next year, they reset based on standings BEFORE the annual waiver draft. So if you have a high waiver currently, use it or lose it. Like your bank accout when you die, you can't take it with you.

Realistically, Rasmus probably has the best shot at being the most valuable player in the deal. An .800 OPS CF is fairly valuable in this league and he's entering his prime. I'm not really a big believer in Folty (BBs, HRs, terrible team, AL), and I like Heaney but most people put a mid rotation ceiling on him. Pineda has had multiple setbacks this year already.

I wonder who throws more innings over the next 3 years between Beachy and Pineda. It's pretty possible that neither one ever throws a full season again. Hopefully this is just scar tissue breaking up, its very unusual for someone to get a 2nd TJS so close after the first. It's weird too, because I watched Beachy's last start and his velo was up to 93, whereas he was sitting around 89 in the previous start and only hit 91 once.

Deck was a bust last year, it's kinda hard to keep piling on. Apparently, the Jays put a 1 on him (on the 2-8 scale), ie org guy. Could have had Taijuan Walker (among numerous other legit prospects). -
The method is more important than the results; flat-out, his hit tool doesn't look like it will translate to thr majors due to a slow load/hitch and subpar batspeed. His pitch recognition has also been brutal, which leads me to believe he's been feasting on fringe fastballs in the minors. We already knew his power was below average, so if he can't hit, there's nothing to see here.
