  1. You basically have your pick from Abreu, Tanaka and MAG. That's a pretty nice decision to make.
  2. He just erased Upton on a wipeout curveball to wrap up his season. 2.19 ERA, 2.73 FIP, 9.75 K/9, led the league with a .179 AVG against. About 4.5 WAR thru 172 IP. God damnnnn.
  3. Johnson had been chirping Fernandez earlier in the game, so Fernandez pimped the home run. It's not very often a pitcher hits a no doubter. Cue the Zambrano comps.
  4. Jose Fernandez just jacked a home run and bat flipped so hard he cleared the benches. He also spit on 3B as he trotted by after jawing with Chris Johnson the previous inning.
  5. Wow, Boxy ain't gonna like this. Here are the results of the Waiver Draft Lottery: 1) Cats Ass 2) z3r0s 3) sammy 4) Boxy 5) jays_fever The rest of the order will be determined by the inverse standings after the playoffs. Also, a reminder that the Waiver Draft is not a snake draft.
  6. Edit: I read that wrong. Yes we will be doing a separate lottery for the Waiver Draft, I'll do it now.
  7. Right now, Rodon looks like a tomahawk slam dunk that shatters the backboard. The consensus seems to be something along the lines of "a f***ing monster."
  8. Alright boys, I've generated the 2014 MiLB Draft Lottery. In case there are any fairness disputes, I took a video on my iPhone. The draft was done using DraftPickLottery.com. Without further adieu, here are the results! 1) Sammy 2) Boxy 3) z3r0s 4) Cats Ass 5) Boxy (Gryffindor) The rest of Round 1 will be in the inverse order of the standings, which will be finalized at the end of the playoffs.
  9. Correct, but split between two picks: Boxy [5] and Boxy (Gryffindor) [1].
  10. 5 team lottery; 5 balls for 20th place, 1 ball for 16th place, etc. I've run a few mocks already, 20th place doesn't get the top pick as much as I expected.
  11. I'm willing to run the lottery today unless NJH has a good reason for us to wait.
  12. Huge night for me tonight, Fernandez, Shields, Ryu and Sonny all have starts. If I'm in a big hole after tonight, I'm probably boned.
  13. Its the f***ing playoffs Yahoo, get your s*** together.
  14. Say what you will about AA, he's always willing to cut bait with guys: Thames, Snider, Yunel, Wallace. Arencibia is f***ing awful at baseball, it's not even debatable.
  15. Yeah, the bubble burst pretty hard this year for Hellickson and Cain.
  16. You will hate me for this, but I've come to the conclusion that AVG is a very underrated stat for pitchers. Some guys are just very hard to make solid contact against, and those are usually the guys that outpitch their FIP.
  17. Wait, -1.1 fWAR? How the f*** is that even possible? Second year in a row for him with a BABIP under .200, speaking of anomalies.
  18. Street was terrible the first half, glad I stuck with him. He's been en fuego the last month.
  19. He kept holding out for more; he's a notoriously stingy negotiator. I don't advise trading with him, if you do manage to pull something off, you've probably lost before the ink dries. He knew he had a borderline team and that Mo's value approached zero as the year went on, he still wouldn't move him for two keepable relievers.
  20. I acquired Uehara to be my holds ace and he got promoted to closer... so it goes. After that I pretty much decided to punt holds and dominate saves every week (which I have). So while you may have balance between the two categories, you have virtually no shot of beating me in saves. No one else has 5 above average closers that I'm aware of.
  21. I actually bugged Silvio all year for Mariano, knowing that if I had to cut RPs anyway, I'm better off just getting an excellent one that was retiring. I offered Street or Scheppers plus on numerous occasions but couldn't get a deal done.
  22. Yeah, it hurts to have to cut legit closers. Most likely I will trade them for draft picks to middle-of-the-pack teams that have room for them on their 20. I don't plan on letting them go to the Rule 5 if I can help it.
  23. I'm keeping Chapman, Uehara, and probably Cishek. It's going to be damn near impossible to find room for Street, Balfour, or Scheppers.
