  1. Actually that sorta sounds like Anthopoulos.
  2. That team is a f***ing mess. Can we please pants Amaro and steal Cliff Lee for pennies on the dollar?
  3. Lol @ trying to trade that overpaid, declining, douchebag piece of s***. I could see a poorly run franchise like the Angels taking him.
  4. Walker and Franklin are ticketed for Tampa, book it.
  5. Bold prediction: Hutchison comes back to give us 100 innings of sub-4 ERA and 3 K/BB.
  6. Can we get Franklin now please? He would be an ideal fit.
  7. I am at work so I can't post to the board, but I can copy/paste it and email it to Hurl if he wants to post.
  8. Wow, Parks put Stroman ahead of Lawrie on his Top 10 Talents under 25.
  9. Strong GB rate perhaps? Probably just the crafty Asian factor.
  10. I think it's less a question of durability and more a question of long-term fastball effectiveness related to his release point. The less height, the less plane (which is crucial to FB effectiveness). A fastball released at 6 feet is considerably flatter and easier to track than a fastball released at 7 or 8 feet. You can dominate in college and the minors on sheer velo but major league hitters are far better at adjusting. Also, he may throw mid-90s, but the velocity is functionally less than a tall guy who throws mid-90s due to stride length, since the distance travelled to the plate is further the shorter the pitcher is. He will need to develop a viable 3rd pitch or he will get hammered on subsequent trips through the lineup. Luckily, his slider is a legit out pitch. I think he can be a starter but I don't think he'll go 6+ IP on a regular basis.
  11. Safeco probably. I'm not a believer in Iwakuma, I think that ERA is a generous projection (Steamer agrees). I'd put the O/U at 3.40.
  12. Or you could use it for established big leaguers like its intended and ignore the obvious bugs until the projections are finalized.
  13. Based on that he'd be worth $25M AAV over the next 5 years.
  14. That's a pretty cool tool for contract evaluations and dynasty owners.
  15. That would probably give us the worst IF defense in baseball.
  16. Which it appears that Oliver does (Shields @ 233 IP). Either that or Oliver is just some dude guestimating figures in his basement.
  17. I'm pretty sure Steamer had Burch Smith at 200 Ks the first week it was released, FWIW. They'll be refined as the off-season goes on.
  18. Well if it's "almost no pitcher," then if it's anyone it's Shields. My primary point being, shouldn't they maybe take a 3 year avg and RTTM that? Rather than just dumping him into a tier.
  19. Like for example, how do you project Shields for 192 IP when he hasn't gone under 200 in 7 years and has been under 215 only once?
