  1. Allen Craig is going to explode in Boston next year... he might even be a Lawrie-type bat.
  2. If we only get a RP, I'm going to lose my s***.
  3. I still like Utley. I would have been interested, if I didn't already have the best 2B.
  4. I'm sure an assortment of your scrubs will do.
  5. Anybody want to buy high on Bumgarner?
  6. I could see maybe taking him out if he looked lousy, but then I'd have Bumgarner in the game.
  7. I just got home, why is Hudson out of the game already?
  8. BLOCKBUSTER! To JF: Matt Garza + Waiver 35 To LOB: Clayton Blackburn + Waiver 22
  9. Don't front, you've hit on him more than anyone. You'll be begging for him by June.
  10. Just for that, I'll never trade you Allen Craig.
  11. Very comparable. They're always cheaply had, but pretty nice back of rotation filler for a contender. Wins and ERA are categories, people!
  12. Wasn't he like a Top 30 player in 2013? Also, Matt Garza is also available for minor league assets.
  13. If you missed out on Coco Crisp and Jason Vargas, I'm looking to move Torii Hunter and Mark Buerhle for mid-round picks or less-than-sexy prospects.
  14. I missed this post, so I'm bumping just in case others did as well.
  15. While this is probably true, I've read anecdotally that a lot of guys who had success as power hitters in the minors have been screwed up at Safeco and Petco because they find that they can't hit it out with their typical approach and then get pull conscious. Moving to a hitter's park and working with a new coach might let him tap into the talent that made him an elite hitting prospect. Probably not, but maybe.
  16. Not a bad player to take a flier on, really. Hopefully getting out of Safeco can help him finally turn his career around.
  17. There's really no way to fully compensate him. We have decided on the compensation, and I think I can safely say no one would have traded Oscar for the compensation we'll be awarding. Nevertheless, it will give Boxy a helping hand in getting his franchise back on track without unfairly affecting the rest of us. NJH will be sending out a communication on this matter shortly.
  18. We have discussed this, and deaths will be compensated on a case by case basis, as appropriate. If a 38 year old fringy reliever dies, you can't expect much. However, I think we all viewed Taveras as a dynasty building block, and Boxy gave up a lot to get him. Nothing can replace an asset like that, but he will be compensated to an appropriate degree.
  19. Just to let you all know, we will be compensating Boxy for Oscar Taveras. The exact degree to which he'll be compensated is TBD, but given the circumstances, I think we can all agree it's fair. This will probably involve additional and/or upgraded draft picks.
  20. Oh my f***ing god...
