FWIW, in a hypothetical trade where we pick up Shields ($10M) and Kimbrel ($9M), we'd only be adding about $7.2M in prorated salary for the rest of the season. That's not very far beyond the known payroll space (~$5M), and there's an easy business case to be made for a bit of added salary, given where we are on the win curve. This can also be mitigated if we pawn Navarro ($1.9M remaining) or Saunders ($1.1M) off on them.
