    I guess we looked at that situation in a more contextual way. Halladay gave us the best years of his career for reasonable dollars and gave Ricciardi many years to field a contender around him. For him to ask to be traded to a competitive team in the twilight of his career -- behind closed doors and without making an ass of himself -- seemed reasonable. Also, from a fan's perspective, that was the best time to trade him in order to maximize the return.

    Yeah of course we would, but he does, so we let it slide. Personally, I find it pretty annoying when he argues every borderline strike; not because he's necessarily wrong, but because he seemingly has no concept of how f***ed we are if he gets himself ejected.

    Of course he should be tried out as a starter, his stuff is incredible and his command is plus. Unfortunately, I don't think he wants to be a starter any more. He has a lucrative niche where he is succeeding, and he wants to stay there.
