1. Straight up I actually considered trading Reyes to get back Gattis last night. That might work.
 2. Nah, Alfaro's K rates have typically been much better than Arencibia's, plus Alfaro has a 70 arm whereas Arencibia's was like a 40. Alfaro can be a plus defensive catcher which will give him a chance to reach his offensive ceiling. But again, Alfaro is just a throw-in anyway.
 3. Jose Reyes is officially OTB for a comparable OF. Possible suspension is factored into sticker price.
 4. From sammy's perspective, he already has a J.P. Crawford in Lindor. I can see why he'd want to push some chips in for this year with the overall age of his roster.
 5. Alfaro was really just a throw-in. Still, he was an above average hitter in AA the last two seasons as a 21/22 year old. The power upside is real, the approach is still below average. He's kinda like the Javier Baez of catchers, only not quite so extreme.
 6. Over the past 3 seasons, EE has 109 HR and a .389 wOBA while JD has 94 HR with a .377 wOBA, so that's where that comes from. Once you do a positional adjustment though, JD comes out way ahead.
 7. I should have just stuck with this guy <-----
 8. This isn't adjusted at all for position. It's not knock on JD, they're both beasts. Steamer projects slightly more power and a slightly better slashline for EE. Obviously the projections can and will still change a bit before opening day.
 9. I really think Braun is underrated and gets an undeserved amount of hate. Here are the Top 20 hitters by my calculations according to current steamer projections for this format: Mike Trout Bryce Harper Giancarlo Stanton Paul Goldschmidt Miguel Cabrera Anthony Rizzo Andrew McCutchen Kris Bryant Jose Abreu Jose Bautista Mookie Betts Joey Votto Edwin Encarnacion Josh Donaldson Manny Machado Miguel Sano Ryan Braun Jose Altuve Nolan Arenado George Springer The Hebrew Hammer still fills it up.
 10. Nope, just incrementally getting a bit younger while covering off a position of future (or very near present) need. I have some irons in the fire to get an OF back to replace Braun, and while Braun is a projected Top 20 hitter in this format for 2016, I think I can get back some of his counting stats at least for a reasonable price.
 11. Fair thee well, handsome Hebrew. To sammy: Ryan Braun + MiLB 29 To LOB: J.P. Crawford + Jorge Alfaro + MiLB 46
 12. You know, sometimes a cigar isn't just a cigar.
 13. http://gifrific.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/super-duper-anchorman.gif That's great news. Having the defending champ quit the league would really be a black mark on the league. For starters we should ban all co-managers and make any current co-managers ineligible to join the league for at least 2 years.
 14. Soooo NJH, any progress on the silvergun front? I see he signed into PB within the last 24 hours.
 15. Ok, here is what I'm proposing to address silvergun's departure. Since it wouldn't really be fair to the long-time owners (esp basement dwellers) to simply hand over the best team in DDL to an outsider, I propose a one-time special purpose dispersal draft. The goal of this dispersal draft is to equip the incoming new owner with a roughly average DDL team that they have some say in creating, while also creating some league parity by dispersing some of silvergun's excellent team. Here is what I'm thinking: 1) The new owner gets silvergun's farm team. 2) Everyone cuts down to 19 player rather than the usual 20. 3) A draft commences prior to the waiver draft as follows:

New Owner

20th Place

New Owner

19th Place

New Owner

18th Place

New Owner

17th Place

New Owner

16th Place

New Owner

15th Place

New Owner

14th Place

New Owner

13th Place

New Owner

12th Place

New Owner

11th Place

New Owner

12th Place

New Owner

11th Place

New Owner

10th Place

New Owner

9th Place

New Owner

8th Place

New Owner

7th Place

New Owner

6th Place

New Owner

5th Place

New Owner

4th Place

New Owner

3rd Place

2nd Place

Everyone from silvergun's team and all players cut from their team's final 19 players are eligible for the dispersal draft. New players (such as internationals) who have never been owned are not eligible, and will fall into the waiver draft which follows the dispersal draft. At the end of the dispersal draft, each team will have 20 players and all remaining players will go into the waiver draft, which will begin at the normal time.
 16. Maybe we can do a sort of combo expansion-dispersal draft. Everyone enters with 18 players, and the new owner gets the first 5 picks or something.
 17. silvergun's team is stacked, I'm not super jazzed about just handing it over to bright young jew or computer.
 18. Silvergun banned for joking about quitting DDL. Legit.
 19. The DDL overlords have taken a secret ballot and Greenwood is by far the favoured candidate.
 20. There are plenty of OF options available right now that the Jays could pursue: Upton, Ozuna, maybe Cespedes, maybe Puig, maybe Fowler. Fowler costs you a pick but can probably give us 4-6 WAR over a two year deal and would be a legit leadoff option for us. One or two of those guys could end up being steals, and Shapiro can just wait out the market.
 21. Good baseball trade. No need to talk s*** about Benny on the way out the door.
 22. Or Marcell Ozuna.
