    He's a gigantic lefty who hits 97 routinely and has struck out 11 K/9 for his pro career. Do you guys think Clayton Kershaw crawled out of the womb with an elite walk rate? Kershaw walked over 4 BB/9 for his first like 500 MLB IP. You have tried to get Rodon off me multiple times, I would think you would understand the appeal of a lefty with a plus-plus fastball and an elite K rate.

    Solid pick, conman. Newcomb gets ignored by this crowd because his control is subpar, but he has major upside. Kind of like Rodon, but without as good of a slidepiece.

    IMO the draft really flattens out pretty soon. You can just as easily get the #25 guy on your board at 40 as you can at 25, often.

    I'll cut Koji and pad my chances in the waiver draft before taking a worthless 4th round pick in a league where all our farms are basically full already. In fact I think I might need to cut someone from my farm, and mine isn't even particularly good.

    He's the same age as Mazara, but Mazara actually hits. I prefer prospects who marry ceiling/tools with production that is actually good (or at least respectable) for their age level. I have always been the low man on that guy, though, whatever his name is this year.

    FWIW I thought the Royals were idiotic to trade Manaea for 1/3 of a season of Zobrist. Turns out I was wrong, but that's what I thought at the time.

    I think it's the volatility in his stuff. He dominated the Cape Cod league a few years ago and got pegged as the 1st overall pick, then his stuff wasn't nearly as good the next season in college and his draft stock slipped. It's the same thing now, sometimes the stuff is more pedestrian and sometimes he looks like a TORP.
