  1. I pretty much hate dates even though I'm good at them. Grindr is so sleazy, it's about 90% old gross daddies and weirdo asians (no offence, Boxy) propositioning you sight unseen. I prefer Tinder. Do you co-habitate? You must after all that time. That's the real obstacle, being able to tolerate living with someone. If you can do that, you might as well get hitched.
  2. RIP sorry to hear that Do you guys still have sex ever? I get bored of anybody after like a year, I'm destined to die alone.
  3. You're doing it all wrong. Blow their minds one time then never call them again. Leave on a high note, like Costanza(/Anthopoulos?).
  4. It's bad if you still wear it.
  5. Still better than the (many) Kawasaki jerseys I saw last year. Hell, I still see Romero and Arencibia jerseys... that's just embarassing. *burns Jose Reyes jersey*
  6. The general consensus is that's physically impossible. You can't tack on 25 lbs of muscle in 4 months, at least not on a frame like his.
  7. Like I would ever deign to play in that piece of s*** league.
  8. You really don't know what Bruce would cost us, but it's almost assuredly not his entire salary.
  9. Not very sexy. I would probably have just kept Carl's Jr or whatever his name is now.
  10. I don't really understand why Brown ended up being such a particularly bad hitter. His K & BB rates were both solid and there is latent power. Maybe just too much length in the swing or trouble with offspeed. I like it as a minor league depth signing. He's probably garbage, but at least there is some ceiling there unlike the garbage we already had (looking at you, Ezequiel).
  11. I've never been blacked out of any Jays games on MLB.tv, even when it verifies that I live in Toronto.
  12. Somebody at Fangraphs has been reading my posts. He's an article comparing Rodon to Kershaw and Liriano: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/two-comps-for-two-views-of-carlos-rodon/
  13. Yesssss, bring that sweet, sweet 3B eligibility back to papa. --- Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said that Miguel Cabrera is an option to play third base during the team's season opening two-game series against the Marlins. The Tigers will be playing under National League rules during the series, so they won't be able to use Victor Martinez at designated hitter. The decision will ultimately come down to how V-Mart looks at first base during spring training.
  14. I've never talked down Bird because I like Bird and I don't want to talk trash regarding a trade I could still easily lose lol.
  15. I'm just giving him some context so he doesn't kill himself if Benintendi doesn't become the next McCutchen.
  16. Adam Eaton has been a pretty good hitter the last two years.
  17. Boxy here's your Benintendi fix. BP ranks him 4th in BOS' farm. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/card/images/headshot_105574.jpg4. Andrew Benintendi, OF DOB: 07/06/1994 Height/Weight: 5’10” 185 lbs. Bats/Throws: L/L Drafted/Acquired: Drafted 7th overall in the 2015 Draft, University of Arkansas (AR); signed for $3.5904 million Previous Ranking(s): No. 20 on Top 125 MLB Draft Prospects 2015 Stats: .313/.416/.556, 11 HR, 10 SB in 239 PA at short season Lowell and Low-A Greenville Future Tools: 55 speed, 55 hit, 55 glove, 50+ power Role: 55—above-average regular in center field Here’s how far off the radar Benintendi was coming into the 2015 season: I was unaware he existed. Not that I’m the all-knowing draft expert, but I know a bit, and to go from that to a guy who many believed was the draft’s best hitting prospect… it’s pretty darn impressive. His swing is gorgeous, getting through the zone quickly with above-average bat speed and very little wasted movement. He’s deceptively strong and his swing has just enough loft to drive the ball into the gaps, with above-average power very much a possibility. He’s a smart hitter who rarely beats himself by swinging at early pitches or anything outside the strike zone, and his elite hand-eye coordination means there’s very little swing-and-miss. Benintendi is by no means a burner, but he should be able to stay in the middle of the grass. He gets good jumps with efficient routes, and his average arm strength plays up because it’s accurate. Of the “big four” prospects in the system, Benintendi is the one who likely moves the fastest through the system, and while the upside isn’t elite, his feel for the game and four above-average tools make him a high-floor player who could hit near the top of the Boston order. Bret Sayre’s Fantasy take: As a fast-moving five-category outfielder, Benintendi has plenty of things going for him in dynasty leagues. What he might not have, though, is impact—but he also might not need impact to be a passable OF2. Just look at what Adam Eaton did this year with mid-teens power, nearly 20 steals and a bushel of runs. Major League ETA: 2017
  18. Gimme the Liriano side. Not a Miller fan.
  19. I kinda respect Barry's hustle. Sure, he's a gross little midget with nothing to add, but... hmm, kinda lost my train of thought.
  20. Bingo. Cleveland is a horrible, poor place. It has nothing to do with Shapiro and everything to do with their terrible, terrible poverty.
  21. Barry Davis puts me in a good mood. I love how he's the butt of everyone's jokes and constantly gets insulted directly by the players during interviews. My two favourite Barry moments of 2015: 1) Encarnacion hits walk-off home run and trots right past Barry into the locker room despite Barry desperately trying to flag him down for an interview. 2) Barry asks Valencia where is 'sudden' power is coming from, and Valencia responds: "WELL Barry, it's called the Weight Room. I'll have show it to you some time." Mike Wilner is just a bloated, smug piece of s*** who doesn't know a god damn thing about the baseball economy or how to properly evaluate talent.
  22. What does his loyalty to J.P. Ricciardi/Cito Gaston have to do with this current situation?
  23. He could just say "I'm not going to comment on contract negotiations" or "Hopefully we can come to terms on a figure that works for both sides" but he's being honest instead. Oh well. It just so happens he's completely correct. The man has given us at least $70M in surplus value over the last 4 years alone, and that doesn't even factor in his legendary 2011 and 2012 campaigns while getting paid peanuts in arb. If you roll in those two seasons as well, he's given us approximately $130M in surplus value as a Blue Jay. I would definitely feel insulted if I was getting nickel and dimed in his situation.
