Catcher is the new shortstop. Wilson Ramos is probably out for the entire 2017 season, Buster Posey only has an .800 OPS. Maybe time to recalibrate your expectations. Only 7 catchers reached 20 HR so far, although Sanchez probably will as well. Perez is clearly below Posey, Grandal, Lucroy, Sanchez, and Contreras, but after that you could make an argument for him. In a dynasty format I think he's more valuable than Martin, McCann, Wieters, and other dudes in that tier who are similarly flawed but significantly older.
