Ok this is going to be the standard deal, I'm running separate draft lotteries for the MiLB Draft and the Waiver Draft. The bottom 5 teams are in the lottery, with last place (BOXY!) getting 5 balls and 16th place (GP) getting 1 ball, etc. Results will be posted shortly.
You're caught between a rock and a hard place. You can't trade Miggy and Cruz without becoming much less competitive, but you also can't really expect Villar and Hendricks to be this good ever again. You should probably just try to add value pieces as sellers arise and go for it again while Miggy and Cruz are still good, which should be at least another 2 years anyway. Buxton you probably just need to hold unless someone wants him as a piece in a package for a mid-prime all-star.
At this point, no. His defense is terrible, his health is always going to be an issue, and his offence has been in a tailspin since the all-star game. I wouldn't mind re-signing him at the right price, but he won't be worth the ~$17M QO.
The Orioles have a stacked pen, but the Tigers have an even more stacked lineup. Verlander is a lot better than Tillman or Gausman, so I suppose I'd still rather face Baltimore.
I see him more around .275/.330/.440 with 15 HR. I don't buy into him as a .200 ISO guy going forward. Still a pretty good hitter but with a wide range of outcomes.
I think this is a case of Cyborg's team being so much better than the rest of the league that he graciously decided to just eat the loss. It's a noble gesture, but I'm pretty sure if he was a mid-pack team, he'd take the compensation.
