  1. Hey Boxy just FYI, Sayre says Wil Myers is the #6 ranked dynasty 1B, while Bird is #15 and Olson is #19. https://www.baseballprospectus.com/fantasy/article/37166/top-50-dynasty-league-first-basemen/ Please adjust your valuations accordingly.
  2. That's a pretty fair offer if you are projecting him for about 10 WAR over the 5 years. I'd offer that contract too, gladly.
  3. Ew. Mods!
  4. Erey Mcenhagen 1:33 If you HAD to pick a player in the minors to go 40-40 in the majors (the highest likelihood to actually do it). Who would it be? Eric A Longenhagen 1:34 I guess Acuna? Maybe a huge Anthony Alford season if everything comes together?
  5. If you aren't good enough to earn a no-trade clause, then shut the f*** up and play for the time that acquires you. These guys are astronomically lucky to even be playing in the major leagues. If they don't want to play for a s***** team, then they should play so well that competitive teams line up to acquire them. The fact of the matter is, Starlin Castro and Josh Harrison aren't great players. They are average players making $10M per season. If they spend the rest of their careers on last place teams, that's too f***ing bad. Somebody has to play on those teams!
  6. But he's Cuban, and Miami loves Cubans! You know, a month ago I would have agreed that this package was laughable, but then I saw the horrific garbage returns for Ozuna and Cole, and now I'm thinking Alford (a legit Top 40 prospect) is a reasonable centrepiece, especially considering Miami's directive to desperately shed salary.
  7. Alford + Travis + Greene + Gurriel for Yelich + Castro plz
  8. Christian Yelich's agent told Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com on Tuesday that his client's relationship with the Marlins is "irretrievably broken." Yelich expressed surprise and disappointment last month when the Marlins moved Giancarlo Stanton and Marcell Ozuna, and now his trade request has become more of a trade demand. "The relationship between player and team is irretrievably broken," the agent, Joe Longo, said Tuesday. "It's soured. He's part of the old ownership regime. The new ownership regime needs to get new parts into this plan and move forward, and he needs to get on with his career where he's got a chance to win. The big issue is him winning and winning now." Yelich, 26, has drawn interest from the Nationals, Blue Jays, Giants, Phillies, Braves, and Rangers, but Miami's asking price is said to be sky high.
  9. You also had Dee tho, so your SBs were probably above average even without Billy. The average position player starter in this league right now probably hits like 20 HR and 70 RBI, so there's a definite opportunity cost if you are switching that hypothetical starter's PAs with Hamilton's paltry 3-5 HR and 30ish RBI. Have I driven the price down yet? I'll give you a 3rd for him.
  10. Literally the only time you should ever start Billy Hamilton is on the weekend if you're far, far ahead (or behind) in HR, RBI, OBP, and SLG, but you can conceivably swing R/SB to steal a win or tie. Other than that he is fantasy poison.
  11. Goins is a -1.5 WAR player?
  12. Solid platoon option with maybe some starter upside, good value signing. This shouldn't take us out of the running for Cain.
  13. The Giants have one of the worst farms in baseball, can't wait to see how hilariously s***** this return is. I bet it's like Steven Duggar straight up.
  14. Take em both and Jon Harris for all I care.
  15. So Gerrit Cole got a completely garbage return headlined by Joe Musgrove lol. Kinda makes you wonder how cheaply we can get Cutch... like Dalton Pompey or Rowdy Tellez? lol
  16. Non-stop Vlad fapfest. Manny Ramirez comps and effusive praise.
  17. Winker's defense and mobility are so poor that he could be a 120 wRC+ hitter and still be a >1 WAR player.
  18. Probably not as sad as paying him $30M for his age 39 season when he's a broken down sub-2 WAR player. Meh, all good things must end eventually. We all love Donaldson but it's not very prudent to give a $200M contract to a player going into his age 33 season, even if he's been an MVP level player the previous 5 years.
  19. Projected surplus value is $30-45M for this year alone. Still worth a Top 10-20 prospect just for 2017 alone, not including playoff value.
  20. Yo NJH trade me back Mike Kopech for Craig Kimbrel. HME when u see dis.
  21. It kinda seems like that job is Kela's for the taking by the end of Spring Training as long as he can refrain from being a piece of human excrement. Remember when the Rangers closer job was a three-headed monster of shitbags? An ex-con, a repeat DUI offender who pissed himself in public, and an ******* who got suspended and demoted for being the biggest douchebag on a team that included multiple felons and Roogie Odor.
  22. Well, I'm sorry, but Senzel + Whitley + a 1st just won't get it done!
