  1. This seems more like something to would happen to Boxy.
  2. Starlin Castro at Coors would have been a stud!
  3. Who cares. Let's get more trade analysis. Did BTS pick my pocket or is he overreacting to a small sample? Is Juan Soto the next Juan Gonzalez?
  4. Hard to dock him a pick when he's traded them all.
  5. Are we tracking infractions? Punishment should probably escalate for repeat offenders.
  6. Benching an ace start seems like enough.
  7. I gyorked you off. How did Boxy end up with him?
  8. At least 2 of them will probably move off SS anyway so I felt compelled to hoard them. I love Soto, but being a masher in the OF is a higher bar to clear than 2B/SS. He'll be a better pure hitter than Rodgers I think, but Coors and positional eligibility swayed me, ultimately. On another note, I'm really glad I didn't get stuck holding the check on Miguel Cabrera, who I had this time last year: Miggy for Brandon Belt & Jake Lamb Jake Lamb for Victor Robles & Juan Soto Soto for Rodgers = Miggy for Belt + Robles + Rodgers That worked out miraculously well for me considering how close to the abyss Miggy was/is.
  9. Confirmed, but definitely with some hesitation. Rodgers' PD is concerning but I just can't pass on the Coors upside. Between Gleyber, Bo, and Rodgers, hopefully I've locked down a stud 2B/SS situation.
  10. BTS here's some BP Soto content from today. Apparently they would have put him Top 10 in beisbol if he was healthy? Game Recap Juan Soto, OF, Washington Nationals (Low-A Hagerstown): 3-3, 2 BB, 2 R, 2B, HR, 6 RBI. Literally the only thing keeping Soto from taking “the leap” up until now has been health, as he missed most of last year with a litany of injuries. He has absolutely crushed the ball at every turn when healthy, however, and it off to a blazing start in the Sally – a place he figures to call home for a very limited portion of the season. Sally Preview The single-best prospect in this league this year is Juan Soto (no. 2 in the system/no. 22 overall), who is both only here and only not in the global top 10 because of an injury-plagued 2017. Soto possesses some of the best hitting ability in the minors at any level, and he might not be in the Sally for very long if healthy.
  11. I will say that searching Google Docs using Chrome on my iPhone is notoriously fluky, I only ever trust it on a lap top (and Google Docs is blocked at work).
  12. That's some hilariously reckless s***. I think it should have safely been assumed that Beede, if not owned, was owned at some point and plausibly could have been owned, to the extent that it would have warranted a Google Doc check. This ain't year 1, we all know the rules. Does Beede suck? Yes, obviously. Should he be owned? Probably not! Should we make jaysblue forfeit an equivalent prospect in our insatiable bloodlust? I think YES.
  13. Dock him a 1st round pick and kick him out of the league.
  14. I feel like his D is going to be poor anywhere on the dirt and the bat is going to be just okay (90-105 wRC+ range).
  15. A quick perusal of Soto's career wRC+ column makes me turgid. Dominican Bryce Harper, indeed.
  16. I want to start a new FG subsite called SadGraphs. 17. I don't even really like Pillar that much, just giving meaty credit where it's due.
  18. Yep, I'm sure the post could easily be found. It was right outside my office at Yonge/Gerrard, he was hanging around waiting for someone. Oddly enough, I also saw Tulo here last year.
  19. I met him Jun 4 2015, it was an off day. It was two days later, not one.
  20. I just assumed BTS was a mod like 2 years ago.
  21. I'm ashamed of the homer I've become. Now I'll be doubly-dismayed when Bo, Vlad, and Pearson all bust.
  22. They'll be in AA at least until the MiLB All-Star games, then close-out the year in Buffalo and possible Sept call-ups. Shapiro is very conservative and deliberate with player development, but also there's no good reason to promote them from AA to AAA, since the pitching isn't much different. These days AAA is just where players get stuck if they can't break into the bigs, AA is the real proving ground.
