  1. It was partly a euphemism. I know it's a dumb ass post, and I get that Pillar does not have the best self control at the plate, etc. For a small guy like Pillar he may get a bit more plate coverage with a slightly longer bat though, but I guess there would be a corresponding change in bat speed, timing and feel. I assume the smaller the guy, the smaller the bat. Big strong guys like Chris Davis probably would use a fairly long bat? Pillar just seems to have a higher percentage of hits that come right off the tip of the bat, and dribble to the mound is all. Probably he's just not a great or consistent hitter, as others have pointed out. Google tells me MLB regulations allow a bat up to 42 inches. Most guys apparently use 33.75-34". Pete Rose used one up to 36"
  2. Because he seems to send a lot of dribblers back to the pitching mound or infield off the tip of the bat. Maybe he's got short arms, maybe he's reaching/swinging at things he shouldn't be swinging at, but does the length of the bat make much of a difference? It makes sense that a shorter bat would fit a shorter player, and would improve velocity, but I'm completely ignorant about the various bat lengths players use. I'm sure there are a few other variables, like how close a dude stands to the plate, but to me, Pillar seems to hit more of these than other players.
  3. There goes 6-8 weeks. Nasty sprain but at the same time dude is a China Doll.
  4. Good, no more f***ing homerun meatballs.
  5. DFA Grilli now. He's done. He has no confidence and nobody else does in him either except maybe Havok.
  6. You don't have to laugh. The main point being why the f*** is Jason Grilli still in MLB.
  7. Is deliciously served late in a game with a generous sprinkling of cheese. He's marketing his own brand of spaghetti sauce which is sure to be a big hit in Dunedin next week. He's also working on his autobiography, "Cloudy with a really big f***ing chance of Meatballs".
  8. Give credit where it is due. Good call Gruber. I think Pillar has simply matured a bit. The shortened swing, the improved discipline, and the acceptance of his role have made a tremendous difference. The kid believes in himself.
  9. And it only cost him $20 million dollars. $20 million that could have gone to his family. Zero guarantees of winning despite how stacked. Edwin may be on the road for 1/2 the year but his family gets to live in the shithole that is Cleveland. Agent should be shot and pissed on.
  10. How is Edwin happy? He could have stayed in Toronto with $80 million, and now he gets to live in Fricking Cleveland for $60 million because of some greedy agent.
  11. f*** Lindnor and his teeth
  12. Just knew Grilli was gonna s*** the bed. Should rub Gibbons nose in it.
  13. Who is this boner lover? Tell you what though, I had a boner when Upton scored that little league home run. You just knew the Jays were going to pull it off today. f*** yeah dude bros!
