I just love how Ron Darling - OF CHINESE DESCENT - had to apologize to a JAPANESE man for saying the word "chink" in a sentence about him. Granted, sports announcers really should avoid saying "chink in the armor," "cotton-pickin'," "niggardly," and other easily substitutable words that could be misconstrued as racially insensitive. Darling should just do what Pat Tabler does and refer to Tanaka's "Akeelees heel."

Also, watching this TBS exclusive playoff coverage reminds me how much I dislike Ron Darling. He's just a half notch above Dennis Eckersley and Harold Reynolds. Darling actually had a whole rant about how D.J.L.M. was the Rockies MVP, and without caveats. Because apparently, being an average player and not getting attention on a team with multiple superstars actually means that you're the secret sauce.

It actually feels like Matthews might have a chance to do something bonkers like score 65 goals. He's just entering his prime and the top PP unit is unreasonably deadly.

If you project his career goals per game across the remainder of the season and add it to the 9 he has already, it seems very possible or even probable that he'll get 50, if he can play the full season.
