    I bought the book & just started reading it. if I read the last the pages, it seems that Blair was trying to capitalize on the Jays Hype. What's interesting this year is that the Dodgers, Angels & Jays are struggling despite having excellent lineups on paper. What would the Jays record be with a healthy Reyes & Josh Johnson??

    The only solution is for AA to demand that Rogers play "take a walk" by Passion Pit whenever JPA gets an at bat. I think they can override whatever JPA has as his walk up music.     they haven't had great drafts so far, I know it's early, but the team is unable to develop anyone from the farm system. The only regular player in the lineup is JPA & Lind. JPA has the lowest OBP of any regular catcher & Lind was dfa'd last year & no one wanted him. Agreed. What is the point of having AA have the largest scouting staff in the MLB, but

    Bingo!. The jays wasted at bats on Corey Patterson, Fred Lewis, Juan Rivera, & treated Snider like a leper. The only one of those 3 who made any money was Rivera & he was DFA'd in July 2011. Farrell promised at bats to Snider in July 2011, then they sent him down again. Very frustrating to watch. It was even more annoying when they at bats to Thames in 2012. They got more for Thames who had worse credentials in Delabar than the Jays got for Snider which was Lincoln.

    AA won't be fired based on a fan revolt. He could get fired if the Jays fail to make the playoffs by 2015. The big problem for Rogers this year, is that the team started weakly & with a firm grasp on last place, they have little chance of making a playoff run. The Jays won't benefit as much from Casual fan excitement, showing up at Rogers Centre in August, September if they stay in last place. The Jays would have been better off starting strong & then fading after the All Star Break , which is what usually happens to them. The Jays only had 30K for a sunny holiday Monday. That's disappointing

    Very true. The beauty of AA's plans is the Jays had several up & coming pitchers & position players coming up. AA had Brett Lawrie watch in 2011. JPA watch, wit his spectacular debut in 2010, Snider was popular. Most fans thought Drabek would be a star given his dad's pedigree. Hutchison was good. Carlos V etc... The Lansing trio could have been milked as a storyline for a few years. I don't fault AA for going into win now mode, but AA will have to be accountable for the team this year. You can't allow JPA to continue to make a fool of himself at the plate. I have no explanation for the implosion of Ricky Romero.

    Sad but true. AA's initial quotes on the deal could come back to haunt him. I remember him saying he called Miami & asked for josh Johnson. Johnson only had 1 year left, & was an injury risk. The marlins asked for some propsects, then the deal grew to include Reyes & Buerhle. If the deal had stopped at Josh Johnson for whoever, AA would be stuck with an injured pitcher in 2013, who will probably be traded at the deadline. AA wanted Bonificia & was very reluctant to give up Jeff Mathis. Bonifacio has been underwhelming & Jeff Mathis got hurt, but was otherwise a decent backup. JPA has no serious competition for playing time , so he probably feels that he can get away with poor at bats. Did AA make a secret handshake deal with JPA to tell him he would get rid of TDarnaud, who would have competed with him this year for playing time or Josh Thole. I love the PGT. It helps separate the discussion.

    Hmm. That was strange.Wasn't Paul Godfrey the President before Beeston?. Godfrey just got fired at OLG. Beeston seems to be more competent than Godfrey. I think the Jays plan to make AA President once Beeston retires if the team makes the playoffs, based on what Stephen Brunt was saying a few months ago.

    LOL!. I know its a nitpick but I am upset that the Jays have Blanco on the roster. I realize that Thole doesn't turn the Jays into a contender, but every minor improvement you can make to the team should help. JPA has one of the lowest OBP at his position in the MLB. That's sad.

    True. No one should ever boo Halladay. I wouldn't boo Wells. I didn't like Rios. I won't boo Snider or Thames.

    Didn't Farrell call Escobar's eye patch messages inspirational, so he didn't think to look at them closely last year. I wonder if Farrell runs a tighter ship in Boston, so you don't have these problems.

    I did read the article. He seems very upset about the booing. After the Maricon suspension last year he wasn't booed very much. I liked Escobar as a Blue Jay. He was booed more lustily than I expected. Will fans boo Aaron Hill ? Yan Gomes? Jayson Nix ? Johnny Mac? if the Diamondbacks show up at Rogers Centre.

    After Yunel's 2 run HR in the 9th inning, he made a "I am safe" gesture when he crossed home plate. He waved his arms at the fans . He looked angry in the dugout. It seems that he was upset at the fans for booing him throughout the game. I liked Yunel when he played for the Jays.The Maricon incident was dumb, but someone in the clubhouse, ( Omar Visquel ) should have told him to take it off.

    I doubt he gets non tendered. Would AA try & get another bullpen reliever for Rasmus? 2b prospect? SS prospect? What's Rasmus worth in July 2013 ?

    Ok, maybe he has holes in his wing. He's 25. Lind still can't hit LHP & he's 30. Gomes could play 3B, 1B & Catch. I would take that over Blanco who can only catch Dickey , & not perfectly either. Wouldn't Gomes be more useful than Mark Derosa this year? Thole would be a better player than Banco. AA has to stop wasting roster spots.

    I doubt AA goes anywhere till the end of 2015. AA will try to trade his way out of the problems he has this year. He needs Josh Johnson to pitch well till the end of July. I doubt he trades Edwin or Bautista.

    Yan Gomes could run to second without needing an umpire to bail him out on the ball that Blanco hit. Blanco probably threatened the umpire's family. Why does everyone hate Yan Gomes?

    Do you think AA will sign Rasmus to a long term contract at year end?. Trade Rasmus at the deadline & replace him with Gose. Keep Rasmus & give him arbitration for 1 more year & see if Gose improves his hitting in 2013? A few years ago, everyone wanted Colby on the team. Now, he strikes out too much, hits 20-25 HR's, but still plays good defense & needs an interpreter when he speaks to the media.

    Which player in the minor leagues would be dismayed with Gose getting promoted? Jays need a replacement for Rajai Davis. The options are Sierra & Gose. I am not sure if Sierra can play CF. Gose thought he was playing CF late in the game & nearly collided with Colby Rasmus

    So the Jays have hired Caroline Cameron for post game player interviews.... Hmm. She is better looking than Sam Cosentino or Arash Madani. Are the Jays copying NESN, when they hired Heidi Watney & Hazel Mae?

    Good job by Casey , but why was he pitching in a game with a 4 run lead in the 9th inning? Why not save him for tomorrow? I know he was warming up , but couldn't we had someone else? Yunel is really mad at the Jays fans. I blame Farrell & 2012 Macot Omar Visquel for not telling him to take off the maricon eyepatch.

    LOL!. Jays fans continue their tradition of booing former players who hit HR's against the Jays. Escobar has some writing on his eyepatch.

    Yes it was. Hill 2011 performance was bad, but his defence was still pretty good. Furthermore, he could give you 20 + HR's in a very bad season. Johnson & now Izturis are downgrades on Hill
