    Exactly my point. Would you give Machado $250-300M with the know knee issues? I sure wouldn't. Harper inconsistency worth the same? Not sure what this catastrophic injury Grant's saying Stanton had, but I''m sure everyone will know soon enough.

    Cashman finally has control of the team without the Steinbrenner interference. Anyone who follows baseball as closely as you doesn't need my input to understand this. Are the Yankees still going to spend? Hell ya they are! $600M on two players during the same offseaon though? I really don't think i'm being unreasonable here.

    Guess I do. My point was the Yankees aren't spending money like they used to. Anyone who thinks Cashman is spending $600M on two players in the same off-season is kidding themselves. I fully expect one of the two end up Yankees though.

    Part of it seems to be the way baseball was at that time. Unless I'm mistaken, pitchers weren't valued the way the same way they were when Halladay was dealt.

    This sounds confusing. Based on what I've seen on the O's board, racism is black and white. O's FO seems to have a problem with players who aren't American. Wish I had linked to the article, but it's only a few days old and seems to label the O's as anti Latin American. It's not going to be a coincidence when Machado walks while Jones, Trumbo and Davis were retained. Weiters would have gotten the same treatment if it weren't for his spat with Mr. 50hr himself, Brady Anderson.

    Cashman isn't Steinbrenner. I think your s*** balling here Spanky! Yankees just haven't been the same free spending team under Cashman IMO.

    How can you possibly stay under payroll while spending $60M on two players? Their going to need $ if any of that traded/home grown talent makes anything of themselves. You know better than this Spanky!

    Tthe Yankees aren't spending $600M+ in a single offseason. Even if they could who cares? I've got every bit of confidence in this FO building a perennial contender for under $200M. I am the only who believes we won't be seeing a rebuild in TO anytime soon?
