  1. http://m.mlb.com/news/article/162988546/toronto-blue-jays-have-options-at-leadoff-spot?partnerId=as_mlb_20160129_57738486&adbid=692907723281809409&adbpl=tw&adbpr=18479513 For the first month of the season who should bat lead off until Travis gets back. Maybe Devon Travis is or isn't the best option, but I get the feeling he'd start the year there if he wasn't injured. So, in the meantime let's vote who bats lead off and see if this boards opinion matches Gibby's.
  2. Fresh cut grass smells so good because it reminds of the fact that Spring has arrived, the cold is coming to an end, and baseball is back! That's where the saying comes from and why people love smelling fresh cut grass.
  3. Meola (@DfineNrmLC) has broken the Stanton, Ramirez and Maeda signings, along with financials. He's very credible. https://t.co/bTItx4mzp2
  4. According to @DfineNrmLC, the #MysteryTeam in the sweepstakes for Yoenis Cespedes was the #BlueJays. He ultimately re-signed with #Mets.
  5. According to my twitter feed, some guy who broke the news on three signings this off season says Jays were the mystery team for Cespedes. Maybe we still have some money left after all....
  6. If they arent signed by spring training my guess is we lose them both. My guess is Jose for 4 years at 18, 20, 22,25...85 mil total if signed in the next month or so by Jays...if not he gets 4 years at 100 total. EE with Jays, 5 years at 22 mil each for a total of 110....if a free agent make it the contract Chris Davis just signed. I'd prefer Jose. I always feel EE won't age well, hope I'm wrong cause I love the guy.
  7. I haven't listened, did he actually say that? Amazing if he did!
  8. 100-120 innings from Osuna in the pen, then a starter in 2017. http://www.bluejaysplus.com/the-hidden-benefit-of-acquiring-drew-storen/
  9. That's right, who posted that comment.... Good trade for both teams, fairly even. Helps our team be better balanced and again no prospects lost, it's a new era around here that's for sure.
  10. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather add Chapman, but this is what we have to deal with and I think Shapiro is doing a good job.
  11. Get 5-10 guys like this and hope 1-2 can stick and surprise is a great way to build a pen. Shapiro continues to make me happy.
  12. From the Boston Globe.... 1. Andrew Miller, LHP, Yankees — It’s more likely that the Yankees will keep their uber-bullpen intact rather than trade Miller, according to a major league source. Teams like Houston and Toronto have inquired about Miller, but the Yankees want back a young top-of-the-rotation starter, and that doesn’t appear to be available to them. Lance McCullers was the target in Houston, but he is off-limits. The Blue Jays would have to give up someone such as Marcus Stroman, and that’s just not happening. Stroman for Miller? Wtf! NOPE. Article also says we checked in on Rodney.
  13. Xbox one and a blue, blue Jays jersey! Brilliant!!!
  14. So, Happ @ 3/36 or Leake @ 5/80. I'll take Happ. Could be the deal of the off season.
  15. Didn't Sanchez give up no runs in the playoffs? Or was that just a dream I recently had?
  16. What are we at now, $135. 10 mil to spend? My new boi Shapiro is playing this well, wait for it then sign a couple bargain bin free agents. There already seems to be too many free agents and not enoug teams with money to spend on them.
  17. As a west coaster I agree there are far more fans out East. It's very difficult to find fellow Jays fans. One change this year however is there are Jays hats everywhere you go now out here, tons of fair weather badwagoners have jumped aboard, but not the type to travel to Arizona to go to spring training.
  18. With what relievers are getting paid these days I'm fine with those two in the pen.
  19. Brad penny as a one inning reliever could work...maybe...possibly....right???
  20. Yup, that list looks gross. Playoffs were worth it though, since it had been 22 years.
  21. Holy Christ, Shapiro needs to make a trade....
  22. I agree Ash sucked. Was a different time for the team though. And JP probably is a better choice, actually definitely is...but I really don't like him.
  23. Didn't listen. JP is an idiot. Who's worse, JP or Ash...I think I'd take Ash back before JP.
  24. So, when do the Maeda rumours start flying? I'd love to hear from Kevin Gray! Wasn't he posted a few days ago, I thought something would start to slip about who tossed in 20 million to chat with him...I'm assuming we didn't.
  25. I personally like what they have done so far and how they have done it, but I do agree there seems to be a lack of urgency regarding 2016....lots of off season left though.
