  1. I'll take 22.
  2. I'm right there with you. It only took me about 5 months to give up on the off season.
  3. LOL at morrow calling out Wilner for tweeting about the wrap on his leg. Your made of glass Morrow, unfortunately this is news...now shut the f*** up and start 35 games this year, then next year u can call people out. Sick of this f***ing team!
  4. I'm expecting a pretty big year from melky...I hope I'm right!
  5. Lock him up and keep him out of the yanks hands.
  6. Our defence will be a big improvement on last year (provided no injuries....big if), this will in turn help our pitchers.
  7. Oh, That's why we didn't sign Ubaldo, cause of happs new arm slot. Christ, I bet he's in the best shape of his life to.
  8. Teams who look a lot worse then this jays team have come out of nowhere to surprise throughout the history of baseball. The jays definitely have a shot for enough to go right that this season could work out. I'm not truly giving up hope until the trade deadline. At that point we are either a surprise team or ready to be torn to the ground and rebuilt. The part that's frustrating is there were clear chances to make this team better this off season and increase our chances of being that surprise team but they have all inexplicably been passed on. Truly the only thing that makes sense is the 5.2 billion hockey deal stripped us of the ability to spend, there really is no other reasonable explanation. To make a long story short, health is a must and we have a shot....it's better then being the Astros!
  9. I am one of those pathetic apologists. I didn't bother reading the link u provided but if I recall correctly I believe he said he is targeting 2 starting pitchers in order to compete.
  10. It just hit me, Happ is our #4 starter. Excuse me, going to find a bridge now....
  11. I guess I shouldn't jump to conclusions, beeston still might order AA to trade Edwin for price.
  12. It just hit me, morrow is our #2 starter..... f*** ME.
  13. I learnt a very valuable lesson today, never cheering for tank nation and a protected pick again since the protected pick means nothing to this team. I tried to read my first story about spring training and the jays today (normally in past years I can't get enough news), this year I don't give a flying f***. I got a few sentenced into the one about how everyone was impressed by drabeks bullpen session and wanted to smash the computer. I know opening day I'll be like a kid on Christmas again, but right now I've never cared less about this team in my life.
  14. Santana to Baltimore. Jimenez to Seattle. AA left holding Beestons dick. Me left making excuses for AA saying it was smart going with the youth until about the all star game when we're 12 games out and I finally give up on this teams leadership.
  15. I mean the distance he got.
  16. Damn, that guy didn't make the jump...but that was still an impressive jump.
  17. You make a good point about just enjoying the game, but this stuff (for me) is interesting to read about in the offseason when there are no games to enjoy.
  18. I think there are too many relievers left on the market to get any value for santos or janssen
  19. I might have an old joe carter one somewhere...if I ever find it it's all yours if I remember....and if u would even want it.
  20. I don't think jfas is arguining that Alomar was a bad defender....I think he is saying he never got to see him and the defensive #s show he wasn't a good defender. He's just is going off what he sees now. Nothing wrong with that, he's just stating it.
  21. Theses young guys can teach us a lot of stuff about WAR etc....but they never saw the greatest jay of all time play likes us older gentleman did, poor little brats missed out
  22. The guy lived baseball everyday of his life since the age of 5 or so, I understand what you are saying completely but he was brilliant and I think personally it's a safe bet to say he knew where to position himself. Not that anyone would ever do this, but would it be possible to watch film of every game he played and get an accurate measurement of his defence? Anyway, another thing I'm confident about....if we could add just Alomar in his prime to this team we become instant playoff contenders. I'm sure the #'s would back this up with projections but you would know best.
  23. Alomar was flashy, spectacular and had plenty of range. He was also smooth like butter and had brilliant hands which I believe if I recall correctly were from his dad forcing him to learn to field grounders with a piece of flat cardboard instead of a glove. It's been 20 years and I've seen nothing close defensively at 2b since. His defence rating was not built on spectacular plays, he did everything with perfection. Even his relays home from the outfield were brilliant.
  24. This report sounds promising...where's the link?
