  1. I feel our new front office is playing the relief market perfectly, let the big guys sign garbage contracts then when there are more pitchers then teams wanting them we pick 2 or 3 up on cheap one year deals.
  2. Woops, didn't quote in my post..... Thinking we need to deal make a deal with these Morin's. New worst front office in baseball??
  3. Industry speculation growing that the Jays could add another starter even after Happ and Estrada signings. Was told Toronto talked to #Brewers today but they have Tulo at SS, Martin at C, both long-term, so not sure what match might be. Retweets from your boi Stoeten.
  4. 2/16 I'm guessing for Lowe in this madness.
  5. What rumours?
  6. Two very good one inning relievers just got almost 8 mil per, Happ at 12 again looks good.
  7. Having said that, I should say I think Shark will rebound in San Fran.
  8. Any of the 26 Bad votes want to redo their choice seeing what free agent pitching is going for? I'd take Happ for 3/36 over Shark 5/90 easy. Both have massive question marks.
  9. 100% agree. There must be crazy pressure from players union...cause it makes zero sense to me.
  10. Kevin Brown...idge? Jays hire a GM and we're talking jeans, how hot he is and boys names? Wtf. You know the GM is not a real position anymore when this message board has a 'Jays hire new GM" topic that can't make it 5 pages.
  11. Atkins, Shapiro, lacava....when its the heat of summer and we suck or make a trade or blow a late lead and I need to vent.....who do I point the finger at? Shapiro I guess. I need someone to love like I did AA when all you hated him and someone to curse at when I don't like a trade!!!!
  12. If you are slightly injured, your team is 20 games below .500 and 15 games out of a playoff spot with 9 teams to jump i could see Bautista or Edwin wanting to sit for September. Last year though I'd say EE played over half his games with nagging injuries and Bautista probably close with that shoulder injury.
  13. I used to do this with AA, rate the move now so you can't second guess it in August or September with hind sight. If you were GM, would you sign Happ for 3 years at 36 million? Good or bad signing? For the first 10 seconds after reading the news I was like WTF! Then realized for 12 mil this is a great depth signing, with upside, and no draft pick lost. 3/36 looks a lot better then say a dream 5/130-150 Price signing if he were to give us a discount. 7 years is just scary. I vote good move and so far am on the Shapiro train.
  14. I feel his outstanding post season and the bat flip has finally endeared him to the fans. I think from now on he is loved no matter what happens.
  15. Speaking of s*** ...... The Cardinals signed right-hander Deck McGuire, best known for being picked 11th overall by the Blue Jays in the 2010 draft. McGuire has a 4.57 ERA, 7.4 K/9 and 2.26 K/BB over 713 1/3 career minor league IP. I guess he'll be an all star on the cards now?
  16. 2 years, 25 mil and let him opt out after one year into next years free agent class.
  17. The Mariners have long said that re-signing Hisashi Iwakuma is a priority, and GM Jerry Dipoto reaffirmed that stance only days ago. Heyman writes that the club is “willing to go to around $24 million or so over two years” for the accomplished veteran. It’s not entirely clear whether there’s any willingness to go beyond that amount, but it seems a bit light for a pitcher of Iwakuma’s ability. (MLBTR’s Tim Dierkes predicts a three-year, $45MM deal for the righty.) 2@24? Sign him Shapiro! I thought he was looking at minimum 3 up to 5 years.
  18. Another thing I'll miss about AA, right now just a small part of each of us would be thinking...oh, it's being held up for a 3 way with the Jays where we land Fernandez.
  19. After the season we had it should be: 1a? 1b Stroman 3 Estrada 4 Dickey 5 Chavez 6Hutch/ Sanchez/ some AAAA scrub times 2. The trick is, how do we get the 1a? Edwin for Strasburg is my dream, I'd sure miss EE though.
  20. I agree, but that's what I've been reading.
  21. Isn't O'day sitting on multiple offers and predicted to sign for about 4/40? Nevertheless I wouldn't want him on this team, Bautista would murder him and join his buddy Reyes in prison.
  22. If 13 mil/year relievers cost this much in prospects, then I'm maybe ok leaving Sanchez and Osuna in the pen.
  23. Jose Reyes was definitly a defensive catastrophe, I agree. I also agree defence is massively important, I love good defence. I also believe Tuoo and Travis will be more then fine defensively.
  24. If they dump ryan Howard...so maybe not.
