McGowan is a write-off. Whatever. I doubt Santos will ever be healthy. I doubt Drabek will ever be able to throw strikes.
Only guy that intrigues me there is Hutch. Was super impressed with him last year even though he was called up way too early.
I'd like to see them be aggressive with Stroman. All of the reports were that he's probably the most MLB ready guy from the 2012 draft. Stretch him out and aim for a September call up.
That's actually pretty crazy when you think about it. Shows how active the old board was at its peak.
I remember the Dickey trade thread having like almost 400K views or something ridiculous.
Like how the heck do you strike out 42 times and walk twice
You'd think that you'd get at least 5-6 ABs where the pitcher just cannot locate at all. It seems like an almost impossible task.
JPA in terms of catchers:
HR 2nd
RBI 5th
wOBA 10th..
BB% Last
If this goon could just take a freaking walk every once in a while and block a few more balls he'd be a 4-5 WAR guy due to the crazy raw power. The eye at the plate is probably past the point of no return but FFS defense is something you can actually improve on. Pitch framing/how to properly receive a pitch seems like it'd be one of the more teachable skills in the game.
Buehrle is so reliant on the defense behind him to be successful... With the way these clowns have played out there... can't see him living up to his averages.
Y(Jays success)= a + b(New forum being awesome) + error
Just ran the data guys, r squared is through the roof. Hopefully the cheque is in the mail from the FO to hurl.
No
The lineup is not good enough. The rotation will normalize (Buehrle worries me though, he's pretty reliant on exceptional defense to succeed). But the lineup simply doesn't have enough talent. Quite possibly the worst 6-9 in baseball right now.
I don't really have a huge problem with Romero getting the call. It's not like he's magically going to have something click in the minors and then go on a tear in the bigs. The whole Halladay narrative is overblown.
