    The Jays need to take a chance and be aggressive with Reyes. There is zero chance this team has any shot at all of coming back with a black hole like Kawasaki out there. Too much money invested in this season.

    Gomes doesn't even suck that bad. He has some nice power and can play a bunch of different positions. There is some value in that. JPA has power but can't play any position.

    I have no idea what you like about Esmil Rogers. He throws hard. Big deal. Over the past 3+ years FG has him with the 6th worst fastball for relievers...     Your entire post was irrelevant. Gomes and Aviles are upgrades over what we currently have. We also had zero need for another middle reliever. Nobody is saying the two of them are above average. I'm saying that their average skill sets would be very welcome on our team which is filled with talentless hacks.

    Gomes is not a fantastic talent, but he's versatile, young, and controllable. You can't just give keep giving up depth like this. We traded away SO much prospect depth for Happ and Lyon. Even if none of these guys amount to anything, they're still guys that could've made it and they make our system deeper. Gomes is versatile. So is Aviles. We traded these guys for an absolutely atrocious RELIEF PITCHER Think about how much better we'd be if you take away Maicer and Blanco and add in Aviles/Gomes. Maybe a few wins better? These terrible incremental moves add up and are not insignificant. It was just a completely ridiculous and unncessary trade. We had a bunch of fringe starters who could've easily stepped in as solid relievers (i.e. Cecil), but AA just couldn't resist the thought of acquiring a boom or bust reliever. Pathetic asset management. AA seriously could not have done a worse job over the last 1.5 years.

    Gose needs to go back to the minors to get regular ABs once Davis comes back. Probably never going to be a good hitter but it's pointless for him to rot on the bench.

    Baltimore is a good team, but they're really not that good. With a home and home coming up against the Braves (I can't see us taking 3/4 vs them)... winning this series against Baltimore is huge.

    They definitely need to find a way to get Gose in the field. Will be tough though with Lind going the way he's been going... Can't sit him right now.
