  1. Damn MLB app made it sound like it was a strike from the warning track lol
  2. Bautista threw a guy out? Did he 2 hop it or was it vintage Bautista ???
  3. Did you have issues going through high school or something? I'm pretty sure the people against this aren't taking about how he lives life outside the field but his bad rep in both Toronto and Oakland's dugouts... Aside from this, personally, I'd rather replace Smoak with Tellez if worst comes to worse. If we can pen Lawrie to a minor league deal then I'd be up for it - he's far away from the Blue Jays clubhouse in Buffalo and if by complete surprise he tears the cover off the wall, and we have an injury, I wouldn't mind him as a short term solution. You can never say no to any depth. But if he wants $1M guaranteed then we shouldn't pen him, people complain about giving Smoak a small 3M so why would it be a good idea to give Lawrie (given his history which should factor in the price) a million?
  4. f*** him I don't want him anywhere near this team. Apparently he had clubhouse issues with the A's before he was traded? Yeah I'll pass, I'd rather take Ryan cant-hit-his-way-out-of-a-paper-bag Goins/Valbuena/Petit
  5. Lol phillies nice job boys!!
  6. Damn this sucks for Price... but we caught a break just now
  7. Bob's strength is that he's one of the only ones on the radio in the city left that can pull high profile sports guests on his show. I don't ever tune in to hear him ramble but to see who he has coming in as a guest
  8. That's my only question with him. With him playing everyday I wonder how fatigue will affect him
  9. The fact that they finally took out those annoying intentional walks!
  10. f*** I just saw this... hopefully nothing serious Maybe it's day to day or something

Kadri x2!!!! Let's complete the comeback!!
  12. Ayyyyyy. He'd be solid, I'm not sure if he'd take a minor league role but I'd give him a chance as a swingman out the pen until an injury occurs
  13. He was such a hot name coming up until he had TJS but was always a defensive-only catcher
  14. Yeah this is my first season watching hockey fulltime and fights are very enjoyable lol
  15. You can have RBIs on unearned runs. You can get a pitcher's loss if an unearned run is the game winner, and if your the home team up by one and give up that inherited runner you can get blown saves on unearned runs as well. So traditional stats shouldn't be effected, the only decision the MLB will have to make is if the runner on 2nd is an earned run or not
  16. Yeah I was just going to say in response to Grant, baseball's equivalent to a 3-on-3 game is like 2 balls garners you a walk or something in extras. Increases urgency to throw strikes instead of throwing balls and getting the batter to chase. I feel like if you have a runner on 2nd then a bloop hit or an error will end the game essentially, it gets really boring really quickly, at least with 2 ball walk at bats pitchers with great deception and control can still trump a great offense, it's much easier to control than a runner on 2nd. The proposed rule change sounds more like a shootout
  17. I don't know the answer to this but I also keep reading/hearing that a big part of it is hitters now realize the best way to get paid in FA is to hit as many bombs as possible because home runs pay.... but Chris Carter who's not really old and lead the NL in homers got a 1 year/$3M deal
  18. There's an agreement in place to sell the Marlins for $1.6 Billion
  19. I agree 1000%. My parents have TV mostly with international channels, I have a bunch of streaming services and will continue to do so when I get my own place. If MLB.tv still had blackouts it would be very hard for me to watch jays games and I don't think I'll be able to justify $30/month (minimum) across 2 years for 90% of Jays games (the other 10% are on the more expensive SN1). Thankfully my dad's business has Rogers so I can access Sportsnet NOW for Leafs (really the reason why I started watching them this season) and some EPL games, although I'm still waiting for some version of legal soccer streaming with all English games and Champions League games Anyways I see how hard it is for people in the states with the blackouts, if you're in the same state but far away from the city you get blacked out. I know you can use VPN but that's still ******** how you have to go through that
  20. What? I think the older generations are MUCH more accepting umpire mistakes in favour of keeping ref technology out.
  21. Yeah that was the conclusion i was trying to come to; if the change is good enough to warrant a change then it should be used all the time. If you're going to eliminate it from a game you deem is more "important" then it's not a good rule to begin with.
  22. True but that's not really a rule change, that's just the team prioritizing, I'm willing to bet that if the ALDS was 5 straight days we'd still see starters on 2 days short rest going especially with how much the BP gets used in the post season I just started watching hockey seriously this year and I find it super odd that they go to a shootout in the regular season after OT but in the playoffs they keep going continuously until a goal is scored. This makes it seem regular season games aren't important as playoff games, but we've seen in baseball teams losing out on a spot by 1 or 2 games so regular season games are indeed all important. Maybe I'm just being bitter and not accepting the rule changes, but I just think if there is an idea significant enough to cause a change in the rule books then it should be also enforced in the playoffs. That's like having infield fly for regular season and not the post-season or replays only for post-season and not regular season
  23. But the problem is how often do you get 13+ extra inning games? Not really that often. Do you know what a big problem with the MLB is and why a lot of young people aren't playing it? You might think what I'm saying is going to be dumb, but currently there is only one half-decent baseball game on the market and it's exclusive to the PS4; MLB The Show. Video games plays a BIG impact in youth attraction, the FIFA franchise is one of the main reasons why there are more americans and canadian youth are playing soccer, knowing the rules, and watching the MLS, why else do you think the MLS spends so much money advertising the game and holding tournaments and stuff? Cutting time from baseball is great and all but that's all about retaining a viewer for the future, how about trying to get them to watch in the first place? That's just my opinion, I think there are other avenues not being discussed that should be discussed before altering the game I HATE this thinking. I never understood why people like having certain rules different for the playoffs? If a change is good and isn't effecting the integrity of the game then it should be implemented season and post-season
  24. This will never happen, too much potential advertising would be lost Also I don't get manfried's end game here. Why do this? He's talked about trying to up the youth interest in the game but does he really think cutting time here and there will do that? IMO there are other things he can do that don't touch the game's essence that can have more of an effect than what he's doing
  25. He's the voice of reason! He is the voice of the fans!!
