  1. If the SS prospect who only costs money is slotted to go in or around that pick, then sure. But to overdraft a kid due to major league team need is stupid. And what's the need to have the best of the best, trade for a solid kid or player in the majors.
  2. Did they eliminate trading in baseball?
  3. I'm not a fan of an urgency push because that's where the team's at. I hate any talks of we only have a window of this timeframe. The window should be a moving window that changes slightly over time.
  4. As much as I hate the BS of the injury lies with the Jays.......the NHL is worse......lower body injury, upper body injury, out of body injury.
  5. Watch them pull out a win.
  6. I've been commenting on this very behaviour of late and have mentioned it in the past. The "Our team is getting slaughtered and some jackass starts show boating because he hits a HR or makes a nice play" Fatcow....you're in tune with the Hip-hop scene. I'm not being racist here or trying to stereotype, but this behaviour is prevalent in the NBA & NFL, and I see blacks and white guys who could pass for black being the usual culprits acting in this manner. Why is that? Why do players playing a team game get all goofy when their team is taking a beating? IMO its dumb behaviour.
  7. Um most of those players were solid veterans or had already established their game???? What was Cito supposed to do, tell HOF'ers to change their f***ing game? Are you f***ing serious.....some moron gifted a phenomenal team, telling those players something different after 15-20 years of play. Cito not saying anything was the best thing he could've done. Usually when someone does something positive or good for them, they don't slag them after the fact. Joe Carter......the Paul Henderson of baseball.
  8. Weird that Delgado was never forced to pull the ball. I wonder why?????
  9. My god!!!! People from this forum watch other teams.
  10. Minority quotas
  11. Just like I don't believe Toronto media were racist to Cito. There's nothing exists that they were. Its just a minority who has his race card reading and waiting, hot in his holster. I've actually never seen a prominent figure in Pro sports cry racism as much as Cito. The guy's a 6'4" pile of crybaby.
  12. I think Murph's collecting his pay cheque. Cito was doing the same. You don't get a job in MLB, dictate instructions, sit on your hands and let things play out. You should be a little hands on and know what's going on. Unless the MGR needs to powertrip and a player out of town to Pittsburgh. Its too bad Cito couldn't stand up to Clemens back in the day. You ain't power-tripping on a HOF'er, that would've smashed Cito. Ah, Cheeto.
  13. You're right it doesn't mean to NEVER go the other way. But if its so minimally done, whats the point? Like if Enacarnacion or Arencibia have 5 hits in a year that go the other way, it isn't exactly showing that they're a spray hitter and the opposition would adjust. Uh, no. Olerud got back to being an effective hitter again when he stopped being forced to predominantly pull the ball.
  14. You'd think a man of his principles like Cito is, he would've put a cease & deisist order in to prevent such falsities from being published. And now that its after the fact of the book being published, sue for defamation of character for portraying Gaston as a simple-minded man from down Souf.
  15. http://www.cbc.ca/sports/baseball/story/2009/04/02/sp-bluejays-clemens-gaston.html Gaston, now in his second stint as Toronto's manager, told reporters that he suspects Clemens played a role in his firing the first time around in 1997. "I wouldn't doubt that," Gaston said prior to Toronto's 8-5 loss to the Detroit Tigers at Lakeland, Fla. "He is an ******* himself, a complete *******. I would say that loud right in his face. It is all about him, nobody else but him." Gaston said Clemens worked to undermine his authority, once questioning a decision to leave pitcher Pat Hentgen in a game behind his back and in front of the team. "Him and I had some words at one time and I still regret to this day that I didn't get right up in his face and challenge him," Gaston said. "It was one time he felt like I had left Pat Hentgen in a game too long. "Now you ask Pat Hentgen what he thinks of him [Clemens]. It isn't too good, either." Poor Cheeto. Cheeto spent how long with the Jays, and a player who spent two years with them had more clout with Jays MGMT.....hahahaha. And then after this incident, I'm sorry again, I don't have video evidence or a sound byte, but Cito claims he didn't get a managerial job because of racism....hahahahaha The funniest thing of that article was 10 long years after the fact, Cito's like "I regret not having the balls to stand up to Roger, because you know..... I would've." Come on Cito, Roger would've smashed your ass James Byrd stylie.
  16. I apologize to all Toronto sports "fans"/people who go to games because their friends think its cool, but then stop going when they don't think its cool anymore......... for falsely accusing Cito Gaston of telling John Olerud & Shawn Green to not be spray hitters and to only pull the ball. I can't prove via sound byte or video that this occurred. I concede. I'll offer up a similar challenge to you, and here it is: Please provide irrefutable video or sound byte proof, of any member of the Toronto media using racial slurs or directly or indirectly saying anything racial to or inregards to Cito Gaston. If you can't I'm sorry, but Cito's claims will sit right there with the existence of the Easter Bunny.
  17. So what was Cito's instruction to Shawn Green & John Olerud? Stop spraying the ball all over the field and pull the ball.....Olerud's was following the 93 great season, because we all know his swing needed an overhaul. As for the guys who hit for a good/great average then? You think Cito's gonna tell Robbie Alomar, Paul Molitor or Dave Winfield to start pulling the ball? They'd laugh in his f***ing face. And I still stand behind Roger Clemens getting his sorry race card pulling ass canned. As for the players being not good, I disagree. Some of the players have the talent to be good, but they're just so goddamn stupid to make adjustments when the pitcher's made an adjustment and is burning them every time at the plate.
  18. I agree with the importance of getting on base. But these guys aren't even working at-bats to get in a position to still get a hit, they flail away at the ball. No one shortens their swings with two strikes, no one chokes up besides Kawasaki. Its all about how hard and how far they can hit the ball.
  19. We should get a night where the forum bombards him with calls and trolls the s*** out of him. And we use our screen names as our call in names.
  20. Ken, if Cito's still around I wouldn't be surprised the odd time if he's heard. Its a shame at how persuaded players can be to change their philosophy to this really, really retarded way of hitting. I'm sure Murphy has his roots with some players and they still chat about hitting. Its a shame.
  21. Jays should deal Rasmus to the Marlins for Ricky Nolasco & Jose Urena. And then promote Gose to play CF for the long haul. The Jays address their current rotation instability issue with Nolasco. We instantly get better defence and base running, and arguably better at the plate. The Marlins save millions in the ROS money owed to Nolasco and Rasmus. And the Jays get a nice upside arm for the farm.
  22. If its Langerhans, you know something's up where this whole thing is just one big patchwork until late June/July'ish.
  23. If Davis hits the DL, it'll be interesting to see who does get the call.
