  1. Good chance the f'ing White Sox could win a WC series against Minny if they got in. Reasonable to say a short series is 50% crapshoot and 50% team quality.
  2. Better than average. A little tidbit from BA: Among the relievers on this list are some of the top names in the minor leagues. Connor Cooke was a revelation for the Blue Jays this summer, as he pitched his way to Triple-A by season’s end with a robust three-pitch mix.
  3. Kona Takahashi could be a top 100 or even top 75 MLB pitcher
  4. I really respect your undying optimism bordering on desperation
  5. Are you moving to Orioles Hangout?
  6. It's Gruber's fault. He has a poster of Goins on his bedroom ceiling.
  7. Not sure when Franco decision day will be, but I am officially in the market for a SS, preferably with 2B eligibility Plenty of nice assets to deal from
  8. Even if Manoah rebounds next season, Jays should look to trade him. He's always going to battle his weight.
  9. Sandy Alcantara, he of the 228 IP and 6 CG in 2022, had the TJS today. Anyone surprised?
  10. Do you want to hear the full 27 minutes?
  11. Not until roboumps
  12. It can.... Berrios knew of the plan but not the reasoning.
  13. Right, and no biggie. Frenchsoup is out there, somewhere.
  14. I would suggest the variation is far higher game to game than it is inning by inning. If a pitcher is on, he's on. Effectiveness wanes the more times through the order, that has to be taken into account. If teams aren't currently using the part I bolded in your post, then the manager has to be able to override based on what is going on in-game.
  15. Not only that, but there is a significant risk of pulling an effective pitcher for another, not knowing if the new pitcher will be effective or not. Some days, a pitcher just does not have it. As we all know, there is a significant variation in pitcher performance from start to start, appearance to appearance. If you use analytics (i.e., statistical probabilities) to come up with a predetermined strategy, but don't adjust it based on real time data, you aren't using analytics properly.
  16. Any team with Harper on it is a dangerous opponent
  17. Ok so my suggestion last offseason was sign Bellinger and trade Kirk to Miami for pitching. Bellinger instead of Varsho in the lineup would have made the entire lineup better. Remember Vlad's big year he was generally sandwiched between 45 HR Semien and a silver slugger Teoscar
  18. D-Backs / Dodgers Phillies / Braves Rangers / Orioles Twins / Astros Phillies / Braves the marquee matchup, should be a good one
  19. Plus a better 1B than Vladdy catches that ball
  20. True, different circumstances but yes I remember scratching my head over that move
  21. The dismantling of the barrio? The removal of the HR jacket and the seeds guy? Having a manager with the personality of a trash can?
  22. And therein lies the problem. If Berrios comes in walks a couple, struggles somewhat with command, then sure. If he has good command and getting a good number of swinging strikes, that predetermined plan needs to be adjusted. By the field boss based on the in-game dynamics.
  23. One thing we know, there is no f'ing way Gibby takes Berrios out
  24. Yes the Jays f***ed up the "nice problem" of Jansen, Kirk, and Moreno.
