  1. Hey, maybe it was just a crafty way to get some free press and gain inroads in a major demographic. I long ago stopped questioning the motivations of private businesses. It's all bottom line driven. Whether the interview is mainly for marketing purposes, or because she is seen as a viable candidate, who knows and who cares.
  2. We are aware of a lot of the things that only exist in your mind, connor.
  3. Thank you for confirming my suspicions
  4. I'm haven't gone back in the thread very far, but just curious how the Giants interviewing a woman to be the manager triggered the whole trans thing. Like, how does one relate to the other at all??
  5. And there's nothing wrong with that, or doing it the Greek way.
  6. It's California, so the Giants probably have an inclusiveness hiring policy. It may simply be that this person is the best communicator in the clubhouse, has excelled in every role assigned, and just happens to be a woman. Anthopoulos started in the Expos mailroom, IIRC, and made some pretty dramatic leaps up the rungs.
  7. Anyway, good luck to the Marlins in getting a quality baseball executive to agree to be their next GM. They are probably working off a rather small candidate pool.
  8. Nah, the kid will think it's a normal thing and not say a word. Which is great. And Cooperstown should be commended. The science of sexuality/gender is quite fascinating.
  9. Good dealing, and kick starts your retool My offense looks pretty good now, a lot of boom bust guys though
  10. I'll be surprised if he's on the team next spring, but then i said the same thing a year ago
  11. Of course run scoring is lower in the playoffs. Teams like Oakland don't make the playoffs.
  12. Guys, a team of USA college players beat the Soviets in 1980
  13. Not enough mentions of the Rangers turnaround from one of the worst teams to ALCS finalists I was skeptical of their moves, but....
  14. I had some interactions with Rosie way back in the Mike Harris years
  15. So AA said no to an offer to come back, and we are stuck with Ross
  16. And that's a wrap. Massive failure by the Dodgers. Friedman has got to go.
  17. Betts and Freeman are so bad. Playoff chokers, keep them away from the Jays.
  18. He's gone the way of Paxton and Sale, chronic arm issues, a good game every long now and then
  19. His career high 178 IP in 2022 killed him
  20. Rodon bounce back chances are pretty slim
  21. King can't do a season as an SP, his arm would fall off - his arm is so fragile its probably going to fall off however they use him. Yankees and Red Sox have far more holes and question marks than the Jays.

Nice win by the Buds Looking at the TOI, can't believe penalty killing leaders among forwards are Marner at 3:17 and Matthews at 2:17. Total TOI for both about 25 mins. Tough for a forward to keep this up over a whole season. Surely there are role players that can do the PK.
  23. True, I have no idea why they kept the fatty instead. Most rankings had Kirk as a top 10 or top 5 catcher after his 2022 performance. He had more value than Moreno at the time of the trade.
  24. Thanks for the reminder to set up the draft, c-pee
