  1. Wheeler is 29, Keuchel 31. 11.5 WAR for Wheeler last 5 years, 18 for Keuchel. Allowing for Wheeler's injury absence, the gap between the two is not great. I put them in the same tier.
  2. C'mon don't be afraid. Stick your neck out, buddy boy.
  3. Hey at least we are expressing an opinion and not attacking other posters. If you were GM, what would YOU do?
  4. I'd be trying to sign a Wheeler or Keuchel - 2nd tier guy. And take a flier on a bounceback candidate like Wacha or Porcello. Too early to look at potential 2021 free agents, that's a discussion for later. Because who knows, Pearson could be elevated and immediately pitch like a top 50 pitcher, and SWR could dominate and force his way up.
  5. Sent you something for Sale
  6. I gets you. The only opinion divergence really, is how far to go in signing free agents this offseason. Some suggest caution and focus on 2021 and beyond, others say contention in 2020 could happen and to be aggressive in FA signings. For me, contention in 2020 is quite improbable and I'm not making a single decision with this goal in mind. And yes, NJH, some have advocated to go as far as buy a 2020 contender through free agency.
  7. Not a bad option at all, front load Wheeler a 4 year guarantee plus 1 club option year, give him 75% of the money in the first two years.
  8. Uh, there's been more than a few advocating signing a bunch of free agents in an effort to contend in 2020.
  9. The other way to approach this is, take the bet that Pearson will be an ace. Jays have plenty of back end options. With this bet, the need is #2, #3 starters. No need for taking on the risk, $$$, and term associated with a Cole. It's making a bet, but not a bad bet to make in the Jays situation. No guarantees in baseball, either that Cole will be an ace when the Jays need him to be one, or that Pearson will develop to a front line starter. Also noting the 1st two years of a Cole contract likely wasted.
  10. Generally agree with this. This year's off season moves should be just to (hopefully) have a better season than the last, get the casuals thinking the Jays are moving in the right direction. Continuing the focus on player development instead of spending $$$ on free agents maintains salary room to extend JGJ, BB, CB, etc when the time is appropriate.
  11. Cole grew up 5 miles from the Anaheim Angels stadium and the Angels need pitching. Jays would need to outbid the Angels by a fair bit. Highly doubtful.
  12. Yep. I feel like an enabler making that veto.
  13. Added the following to my trade block in Fantrax: James McCann Jonathon Schoop Dexter Fowler Khalil Lee Kevin Gausman Tyler Clippard Renato Nunez Available for pick upgrades.
  14. All good to me. I'm currently planning to cut down to 21 MLB and 11 MiLB. If not flexible, 21 + 11 seems right? Pretty please?
  15. BABIP the last 3 seasons, .312, .242, .216 Might be a guy a little adjustment away from being a good bit above average again
  16. Drury a bit different, has an option and $2.5M cost Not advocating keeping him, just that these are case by case decisions
  17. Francis Martes
  18. A prospect so unknown no one knows how to spell his name.
  19. Ya him too. See if s*** can stick.
  20. Give Aguilar a chance at a domingo Santana comeback
  21. Low A level stink? Where should he be assigned
  22. Have 1 of Pollock, Mercado, or Aquino available
  23. BTS has a better sense of humour than you give him credit for.
  24. JD is bad news on a non-contender.
