  1. Yes, just giving Franco some time to warm up at AAA. He's also been a bit of a slow starter which some attribute to "cold" weather, but maybe he's over that now.
  2. Andres Gimenez available for the highest draft pick offered by noon tomorrow. Potential 10/30 guy, needs to get on base more
  3. It would be nice for sports science to advance to the point where based on testing, it can estimate a safe velocity for a pitcher. Those guys without the arm to throw gas can focus on pitch mix / command. Many of the guys throwing 97-98 will crash and burn within 5 years, when throwing 94-95 they can have a good 10-12 year career. Probably wouldn't matter, no one listens to science these days.
  4. That would be good, to change the focus from maximizing velocity, extending pitching mechanics to the physical limit. However, a team that does would take the risk of falling behind. I am sure there are good statistics to back up the pursuit of high octane arms.
  5. At this rate, they will have to lower the draft eligibility for pitchers, and sign IFA pitchers at 14 yrs old.
  6. Andrus knew exactly what he was doing, the f***tard
  7. The solution is pretty f'ing simple. Need Springer out there though
  8. Daniel Lynch rostered for his debut against the Cleveland Baseball Team tonight. Probably a disastrous decision.
  9. Speaking of busts, #15 overall Jon Harris is still with the Jays, in NH.
  10. Early days. No way the Mets stay as a well below average run scoring team
  11. Oh really, tell me more about what I have committed. It was all between consenting adults, mate.
  12. You are a lawyer, Terminator? You are aware that prosecutors will generally not pursue a criminal case, particularly of the sexual assault kind, if the victim does not want to be subjected to court proceedings and attacks on reputation, shaming / blaming the victim, etc. The fact that there are no criminal charges, to date, says nothing about the seriousness of the matter.
  13. A perpetual habit of adopting an entrenched position.
  14. Reductio ad absurdum is not a logical fallacy, but an indirect proof. We don't know the details. Alomar may have caused the complainant grievous, permanent harm through reckless disregard / negligence. A proposition that no one should be removed from the Level of Excellence for things that happen after their playing career is over, can be refuted by an absurdity argument. A rapist, a murderer even? Neither is an unreasonableness argument possible. Because again, we don't know the details. Third party determination, Grant is wrong. The matter does not rise to the level of a permaban, but a healthy dose of BJMB humiliation is appropriate.
  15. That would be inappropriate. It's a disagreement, not a bannable offence.
  16. Agree if he was stretched out he'd be a top 5 SP option right now. As to why, didn't he have a problem 2nd and 3rd times through the order as a starter?
  17. It's quite possible, as it often when these things occurred in the past, is she reported it and nothing was done, or the wrong things were done.
  18. Dustin May might be broken.
