  5. Was a fan. At least it wasn't batteries or full beer cans. Yankees fans have gotten better.
  6. Nats game postponed due to shooting. Add shootings to weather, police killings, and covid as postponing reasons.
  7. Dunno, it's 2 weeks. He could have just gotten lucky on a couple of hits. Best to entirely disregard any small samples.

  9. Will finally see Ryu and Ray pitch in Toronto
  10. Hockey is a violent sport to begin with. So say the NHL bans fighting, which would mean the bar for being charged with assault for an on ice punching incident is lowered. But what about spearing, or knee on knee, or hitting from behind at high speed into the boards. These actions are more dangerous than throwing a punch or two. It's generally very difficult to separate out game actions from a bonafide intent to injure / maim. Where the intent to injure is quite obvious, players have been and will be charged. The famous incidents involve Bertuzzi, MacSorley, and Ciccarelli, all charged and guilty.
  11. I don't think the government gives a flying f*** about those logistical considerations. The only consideration the government has in this matter is public safety. If MLB in Toronto is permitted as of July 30, and can't happen for another week due to logistics, big f***ing whoop.
  12. I think end of July MLB in Toronto, with the appropriate restrictions, is an acceptable risk. And let's not compare the risk of a couple of hockey playoff games with a large number of MLB games / teams rotating through Toronto. The risk levels are quite different. The reason I think MLB in Toronto by end of July is probably acceptable has to do with vaccination rates, by that time Canada will have more than 80% of vaccine eligible people fully vaccinated (and approx. 70% overall). There is nothing artificial about the dates, they would be tied to Cdn vaccination rates. Of course, risk is subjective and everyone will have a different opinion.
  13. Sometimes in MiLB a player works through an adjustment or is working to improve a specific pitch. Hopefully that is what this is.
  14. Recent news corroborates the UFO and alien baby reports.
  15. No I didn't welch. The initial deal is still up in F/T. I reached out to you on reconfiguring. Which one do you prefer?
  16. Getting to 85% with one dose is going to be the challenge. This reopening is being done the right way. Once reopened this time, there should not be another surge, except on a local scale in community pockets. The average Cdn does not give a f*** if the Jays are playing in Toronto or Buffalo, the impetus to make an exemption is just not there. Plus even if an exemption is given, restrictions attached to the exemption will need to be accepted by the union, which will likely opt for the freedom in Buffalo vs restrictions in Toronto.
  17. Yes, and there was a quite chubby period of time that was blamed for poor results, after which he got in better shape and returned better results.
