It's a he said/she said obviously. But the investigators will interview the woman's other partners to determine her limits / try to corroborate. And of course, if another woman comes forward alleging nonconsensual acts by Bauer (ie. assault) that will change things considerably. These things are always fraught. I don't think it's a question of the gravity of the actions (unless the skull fracture is true), but whether Bauer went beyond what was agreed or consented to.

Unlikely to have been Bauer's first BDSM rodeo. If no one else comes forward with nonconsensual acts by Bauer, the question of whether this was a setup for $$$ becomes louder. In these things the truth is generally in the middle, but regardless of outcome this is a very very bad look for MLB and Bauer. There seems to be a perception DV and misogynistic behaviour is more prevalent in MLB compared to other professional leagues and as a business MLB needs to take action now. Bauer should immediately be placed on administrative leave, pending investigation.
