  1. Problem is there might be no baseball in 2022. Trades this deadline might be muted, limited to rentals, given the uncertainty.
  2. Guys like Smith that break out in AAA at a bit of an older age often turn into bonafide MLB players. There are examples everywhere. He probably next for a callup if there is an IF injury.
  3. If the Jays move Semien and Ray, it should be for pitching prospects. As the saying goes, you can never have enough. Jays have some strong pitching prospects in the system but is certainly weaker compared to position players. Seattle has some interesting pitching on the farm. I don't think they get moved, anyway. Jays might make some minor moves on the margins, just in case the team goes on a tear.
  4. As I said, unlikely scenario, but we have seen it before with other prospects
  5. Keibert Ruiz with 3 HR and double tonight 16 HR in 211 PA, 11.1% K rate Prime Dodger trade bait
  6. There is a scenario where Orelvis starts in AA next year, keeps destroying baseballs, and is manning 3rd base for the Jays by midseason 2022. Unlikely, but if this kid keeps this up.....
  7. That's a great return for the Twins. Joe Ryan projects as a solid SP.
  8. Based on what one of the BA writers posted in a chat yesterday, I expect Moreno to be inside the top 20 when the update comes out.
  9. Not even possible to welch using the Fantrax trade feature. If I need to drop someone as part of a deal, and reconsider the deal as a result, so be it.
  10. heart of the sox lineup its the right thing to do and good on Montoya
  11. Vlad, Springer, Teo, and Gurriel sure have a rapport going on...... Teo looks to be a laugh a minute guy
  12. Richards had some luck tonight, still s*** results BABIP 0.071, FIP 8.82
  13. Those ******** accusations will start up again, now that the Jays are getting good. Funny how that works.
  14. MLB does not require players to be vaccinated, so trading someone on the basis of not being vaccinated could be argued as bad faith conduct. Something like that. Not the same thing, but there are hospitals firing unionized staff who refuse to be vaccinated. How that shakes out TBD.
  15. Right, pretty much what I said "if true"
  16. MLBPA would be all over that, if true.
  17. Uh not sure about that. Sports hernia is a tearing of the soft tissues connecting to the pelvic bone. It could be made worse. What the team said is it can be "managed conservatively", I assume by shorter bullpen outings the risk is reduced, but not eliminated. And maybe additionally, something like a shortened stride to the plate. I'm not sure a sports hernia can be "corrected" by surgery, any procedure would be to help the tearing to fully heal. Sports hernia is poorly named and nothing like a hernia, where an organ is displaced and can be fully corrected by surgery.
  18. IMO, a better chance of winning WS with a longer window of contention vs. a short window, even if the short window team is stronger on paper. So many variables and luck in baseball.
  19. 3. would bring back the running game in a big way
  20. BTS wins the Cruz sweepstakes, hope he keeps playing for you after this year.
  21. Have sent out some Nelson Cruz offers Send me an offer if you want in on the action
  22. Ya, its f***ed.... Kay getting squeezed a bit here is ridiculous
