  1. I first read this thread title as: "BJMB Twitter account, looking for someone to RUIN it." and a bunch of names popped into my head.
  2. ARE YOU OK? DO YOU NEED ASSISTANCE? cf
  3. Forcing it on him helps nobody. If they can communicate it to him the reasons why they want him to do it, and how it helps the team, then maybe. A happy Jose hitting 3rd is (likely) better for the team than a sulky Jose being forced to lead off. I think the trick is to find a way to have a happy Jose leading off.
  4. Do you think he needs a gaudy RBI total to cash in next season? I think his resume is strong enough that if he hits a bunch of dingers and gets on base a tonne that he's going to cash in regardless.
  5. What if they just said to him: "Jose, we think you should get more ABs than anyone else on this team."
  6. I remember watching that Griffin at bat live; couldn't stop laughing. Pretty smart move, actually.
  7. You might be on to something here.
  8. The Orioles may never lose again.
  9. Yes, this is the troubling part.
  10. April Fools Day is the absolute worst day of the year.
  11. I guess the other thing too is that if Thole prevents Martin from being killed by the knuckleball, then that's a plus as well, me thinks.
  12. I think even if you just flip Osuna and Storen, you can put yourself in a better, more flexible position for 2017 without sacrificing 2016 at all.
  13. Or at the very least, put him in a spot where they can even consider starting him next season. I was hoping that putting Osuna in a role this year where he pitches multiple innings would put him in a spot where he could do what Sanchez is likely to do this year; start for a bit and then move into the bullpen later on. I guess that could still happen, but a bunch of dubious moves here.
  14. I really like this approach, especially with the uncertainty of where Bautista and Encarnacion are going to be next year. However it is this team got here, it's pretty much built to win now-ish, in that we probably have a better chance to win this season than next. Pompey is certainly better than Lake and Carrera, in just about any and every capacity. I think they should definitely try to find a way to work Pompey into all the roles you suggested at the major league level, in the interest of giving this team the best chance to win.
  15. 4x the people have not selected Sanchez over Hutchison as the fifth starter. 4x the people believe that the team will select Sanchez over Hutchison as the fifth starter.
  16. Just confirming that the poll is saying "will be" and not necessarily "should be". I think it "will be" Sanchez, with Chavez filling last year's Estrada role.
  17. This is it exactly for me. Really nice that the app is available on so many platforms.
  18. I ended up just biting the bullet and re-upped. I really don't want to work too hard to try and watch the early season games before the mid-season price adjustment.
  19. Pompey and Castro aren't really similar situations. Pompey is a guy who has shown success at various levels, has been with this team through the playoffs, and there's a semi-legitimate hole for him to fill by making the roster. The Castro situation was just...well, I don't really know what the Castro situation was all about.
  20. I'm okay with this.
  21. "Start of decline" != "finished" Especially when the decline starts from so high of a peak.
  22. Nice to see Goins continuing to try and improve his game. A great piece to have on this team, even though I'd like Travis back ASAP.
  23. Thanks. I know it's been okay in the past, and I don't see any reason why it would change for 2016, just was hoping for confirmation of it still being okay moving forward before re-upping for the season.
  24. No me neither, it's just I seem to recall that the lack of blackouts for Toronto were somehow due to Beeston making the request to have it removed. Not sure how true that is, or even how prevalent blackouts are with other cities in general.
