  1. There is a race whether it's the race you'd like them to be in or not, it's a legit race among at least 4 teams. A week ago, the Jays had a 2 game lead, but had begun to go into their latest slump which has seen them fall to 1.5 games off the 2nd WC leader. The team ended July winning 5 in a row, but has struggled mightily in the first 8 games of August going 2-6. So again, it is a race.
  2. I don't get the whining, although I should since it's a GDT. Still, so many posters were just begging for "meaningful games in August" prior to the start of the season yet can't seem to handle the rigors of a WC race.
  3. The Jays scored all their runs in the "first couple of innings". The team had a 2 run lead with 3 outs to go and Janssen on the mound, I'm sure you'd take that every day of the week and twice on Sunday. As I said on another post, Biggie played a key role in this loss since Janssen was pitching for the 3rd night in a row and tonight was the first save opportunity of the 3. We'll see what happens...
  4. Not true and Rogers isn't blameless for approving the inefficient spending. Attendance has picked up in the 2nd half, maybe since July and so have ratings this year. Last year, the team presold tons of tickets. Not saying they made lots of money, but they certainly haven't lost any.
  5. The more I think about it, I think it was more Biggie than Janssen since Janssen was pitching for the 3rd night in a row and I think it showed in his pitches, they had no life and were up in the zone. It's frustrating, no doubt, but that's baseball and Janssen is usually nails. The team's battled all season, I doubt they'll stop now. We'll see what happens.
  6. So a s***** team is a starter away from not being s*****?
  7. Or you can stop following the team. Remember, you can pull yourself out of this misery.
  8. Agreed. Santos would probably be on a 12-inning scoreless streak by now.
  9. Well said bro. Biggie's been pretty bad at BP management this year which has been a strong point of his in the past.
  10. You mean PR for the guy who just beat out an IF single...you drunk or what?
  11. The owners knew the ramifications of taking on Reyes and Buehrle's contracts. They also knew that if they struck out in improving the team for the 2013 season, they'd be expected to lose over 90 games going into 2013 and they may have lost 100 given the injuries to Bautista, EE, Rasmus and Lawrie. We know what they chose to do so for me, the blame starts at the top. If ownership was so concerned about how efficiently or inefficiently this team was put together, they either wouldn't have approved the trades they approved or they would've already fired those who made the trades. The fact is that, to this point, all signs point to this team being run as a content provider for the sports channels the team's owner (redundantly) owns so I don't much worry about the GM. Anyway...let the whining continue...
  12. Just another misdiagnosis of an injury, the news here is that this problem extends to the minors as well so we can't blame the Canadian health care system...
  13. It's still Thole who deserves the credit for framing pitches so well.
  14. Who cares? All that matters is that he dove and hustled for the ball.
  15. Boy are you wrong....it's the catcher that decides....give credit to Thole.
