Thing is, Pompey has 2 hits all season. Not that I think he's in a slump, just pointing out that Martin's not the only one off to a SSS slow start. Who knows what Gibbons's reason for moving down Martin is, I just hope it's not 'cause of 4 games worth of plate appearances. -
So, how much'd you pay for the subscription?

That .350 OBP would be nice hitting 2nd, but I guess 3 games was enough for Gibbons...who knows.

It's probably too early to make much of it, but is he in Biggy's doghouse already? For what motive? I have no clue.

So Navarro is not only in the lineup as DH, but Biggy moves Martin down in the order to accommodate his boy Navvy! I guess it makes sense if you think he's your "best pure hitter".

Again, depends who you're talking about and at what price range. The Jays even had to overpay for a Canadian position player, imagine a FA pitcher.

Oh I agree, but I thought you said the opposite on your post, probably a typo. There's no doubt in my mind the payroll parameters changed after the bad 2013 season. Only way to make changes was to lower payroll which is what AA did this past off season. Anyway....first stinker, let's not overreact.

Especially guys trying to rebuild their value. The opposite is true for hitters, i.e. Smoak, Barton and Dirks.

I'm pretty sure it'll take more than Hoffman and I don't think the Jays have the payroll room for Hamels's salary. Can't just ignore those 2 factors.

My thoughts on Sanchez: Obviously, command is a big concern, but he didn't have much today in terms of stuff. I know you expect a velocity drop, but he's not a 90-93 MPH guy, he's more mid nighties. And it's not like he started off throwing 96 and it went down as he threw more pitches, it just wasn't there. Obviously, he is not a guy that can spot a 90-93 MPH fastball to be able to get through a lineup, not to mention the secondary pitches. A good part of the team has been crap though, especially the offense.

Not sure. Just curious as to what the "not practising what he preached" part was. I just feel sorry for people like that. And no, I don't feel sorry for those ill with the illness you brought up. For the record, I don't do religion. All good

Martin has also done well against Jimenez. I think Pompey is hitting second to stay with the hot lineup.

I could've sworn Pompey was hitless going into yesterday's game, but I'm often wrong. This isn't to say I think he was struggling as I think he was having good abs and walked twice against the Yanks.

Don't get me wrong, I want him to do good. I just think you're overreacting to some posters. Some of them are messing around with their predictions in this thread, but the overall negative trend is based on his numbers in the minors although a few definitely seem to have a dislike for him. Anyway, we'll see what happens.

It's his first career start so you may have to adjust your ampometer. My point stands, most posters are going by his numbers in the minors and would love for Sanchez to show improved command and secondary pitches.
