  1. So the Nationals are also struggling, at least they're younger.
  2. I hope the fact that Cabrera is playing against a lhp over Davis is because they've joined #tanknation
  3. Don't shoot the messenger. AA said this, go yell at him.
  4. I'd add Davis, Nay and Dejong to that list.
  5. Haven't played in a while, I'll go with Cabrera.
  6. Replacing JPA and finding a 2B would be enough for me. Lawrie is a big key for sure. I think at this point, a 2012 type year would be pretty good.
  7. It would be interesting to see Rasmus hitting 2nd instead of Cabrera, so what if he strikes out a lot, it means fewer GIDP than Cabrera.
  8. The talent's there bro, just not the results.
  9. What does he think of Bonds, McGuire and Sosa?
  10. It's a meaningless game, but Perez is better than Oliver and was fresh.
  11. Why? If they don't win this year they'll win next year...shrug, shrug.
  12. Well, for Janssen and Oliver yes, preferably a good low minors prospect. For Cecil and/or Delabar, I'd be more picky because they're cheap.
  13. That could be the case with Melky at DH with the payroll issues they're gonna have.
  14. I want AA or AAA prospects in return for any or all of Janssen, Cecil, Delabar, Wagner, Oliver, Loup, Perez.
  15. I would've been ok with a full-blown rebuild when AA took over or after 2010 or 2011.
  16. I find it funny. I'd like to think it's their subtle way of saying that the Jays DON'T do the things they praise other teams for doing. It's obvious to me what they're saying, but it may not be to the guys who pay their salaries.
  17. I've said before, I'll reserve judgement till after the deadline. Unless I'm mistaken, he'll have to either trade a couple of reliever or risk losing them by dfa'ing/waiving them. I just don't see the need to pay 4M each to Janssen and Santos especially with the payroll problems that loom. We'll have to wait and see.
  18. I was checking out videos of this on YT and there are videos with 100s of thousands of views. It looks like a great atmosphere, wow.
  19. Great article. Didn't know how big baseball was in Japan at the high school level.
  20. I think you may end up with 12K fans in the stands anyway with the way they're playing. The offseason trades created hype that helped them sell lots of tickets and interest, but once people see that the product is crap, they won't go back and will actually become skeptical and wary of any future attempts at getting them back into the stands.
  21. The question is, does the FO realize what now seems obvious to so many?
  22. Maybe, but when you do this after a game in which he struggled, there might be reason to think they may have rethought the move. It was always an easy decision to second guess because of Lawrie's struggles. I mean, why put more on his plate when his bat has gone south? It's a fair question, but they also rushed him back from a rehab earlier in the year, but anyway.
  23. It certainly is. I refuse to get mad at him for the trade like others do even though I share their frustration and disappointment in his performance. I've also come to like Buehrle for the way he handles himself and how accountable he is about his performances and again, despite my disagreement with management's decisions this past offseason.
